I'm originally an July/August NVC'er :P

But regarding NVC, they're probably overwhelmed with all of the approvals coming out of USCIS. It'll be alright. =)

I would say wait for I-130  because the K3 will end up costing you more and its only a "SINGLE ENTRY VISA" once the CR1/IR1 visa is issued a green card will be issued shortly after arrival but with the K3 you will have to do a I-485 on arrival in order to get CR1/IR1 status.

when mailing off the ds3032, do i need to include anything else in the envelope? it already has the barcode and such on it.

I mialed mines without any cover letter. As long as it has the barcode with the case number on it, it should be fine.

I just want to say that this is such a great group of people!:dance:

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I totally agree with MsSheka, I was about to do the K3 as well but decided not to do it because of the complications with filing all the other forms that has to go with it and the IR visa is better.

I got the NOA2 hardcopies in the mail for the I129 and I130.

Decided to call NVC, and when I tried to get case status for them, NVC told me they received the I129 on september 29th, assigned a case number to it and threw it in AP and they have no information on how long it will take to get off AP.. is this normal?

They havent received anything on the I130 yet. she suggested to call back next week..

I'm just hoping they don't throw the I130 in AP hell. I was planning on using the I129 if the I130 got AP'ed but i might have to actually use I130 to get my wife here.

Such a rediculous process.

AP is common for K visas. I was there at NVC for 37 days, while in AP, I completed my case on the CR1, both cases were completed at same day. FOLLOW THE CR1 , dont worry about the K3!!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.

If your I-130 get's there and there is no AP, you should pursue the CR/IR visa. It's way better in the long run. Good luck!

AP for K visas is common, no time limit on the AP. The CR1 will NOT have AP on it at NVC, follow the CR1

This happened to me, my K3 got AP for 37 days, while I was in AP for K3, I completed my CR1 at NVC, same day the K3 came out of AP, BUT embassy will not give me a K3 interview due to the fact , they know I have a completed CR1 on the way to them now in Paris. Ditch the K3 stick with CR1!!

Truly happy!!!

New life, new adventures, and a new attitude.
