Okay, I'm a dork. Napoli IS Naples!

Forget using FF miles to go to the interview w/my hubby. They're all sold out. This trip will be expensive! :angry:

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so there is one reason to look forward to a January appt... I have been in a funk all day... and all I really wanted was to be happy for all y'all.... but I just can't do it... Sorry.

I understand Mark...but you're almost there! I think you are a week behind me or something. You'll probably hear something next week! And believe me, the airfare will be SO much cheaper in January. I felt sick to my stomach checking it all out, and I still won't book anything until early next week. I just don't have the time-I'm flying out to Alaska in the morning and frantically packing for that trip! But I know how you feel...that's how I was last week.

hey andrea, glad your rfe is easy to resolve. looks like both of our husbands will have january interview dates. i am ok with it since he wasn't planning on coming until the end of january. i know he was hoping for a december date, but if he would have listened to me months ago when i told him about the passport pcc, maybe he would have gotten his wish :whistle::lol:

Give Generously, Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Completely...AND PRAY ALWAYS!!!

He is home!!!

Mark, don't worry, I'm just the same :( I'm very happy that everyone's flying through NVC...but just as people who submitted their I-130 a month after me got their NOA2 before mine, for no apparent reason, people who transferred to NVC after me have pretty much all got a case complete, again because for no apparent reason was mine delayed for a whole month. All I'm hoping for now is that our case is completed in time for a January interview.

Whenever I start feeling sorry for myself, I remember that I'm still one of the lucky ones, and that there are people who take far longer! Don't worry, we'll get there :)

Congratulations, but 6:30 am?? What time do they start?!?

That was my first thought too but when I mentioned it to David he was saying you would get in and out a lot quicker.

I just want my case complete and some idea when the date will be so we can look at flights and hotels for visa and flight for him to come home for Christmas. I keep trying to login in and call AVR a couple times a day. Maybe next week will be our week.

Have you heard anything new on your case?

Hehe I know, but I'm surprised that the embassy is even open then!

We're in the same boat - if our interview is in early/mid January then I'm not sure there's any point going to the US for Christmas, if it's in late January onwards then there is...but obviously we need to know so we can plan accordingly, and I'm not looking forward to booking a flight to SFO at the last minute!!

We're still waiting for the DS-3032 to be accepted, I sent the DS-230 to my husband and he should be receiving it soon, I booked my medical for 2nd December so that just in case I do go over for Christmas I won't have to hurry back to get it done before the interview. Hopefully you'll have your case complete early next week :) :) :)

We are right behind you. Hopefully next week we will all get some good news. I'm happy for everyone but sad for us.

I wonder why it takes so long for them to accept documents? I find that bit maddening. I'm hoping we hear something soon.

Finally, case completed 11/13/09 per AVR. 15 days from the day DS230 package was delivered and 35 days from day case number was creater at NVC. Don't have an interview date yet, hence can't tell if our case was completed within the schedule time frame to qualify for a December interview.
