^ thats what NVC guy told me...He said even though your case was completed in the second week there were more people ahead of you so you missed the december interview...if we get our number in december they will schedule us for January...so looks like they only schedule in the second week of the month for the next month...sucks

We are still waiting for a case complete. I was told call back next week if we havent heard but AVR says 6-8 weeks. I wonder if the operators are just telling us whatever gets us off the phone?

Everytime they tell me call in 6-8 weeks,i call the next day. They just give you a standard reply. Classic example was last night when I called to check on an interview date they told me to call friday next week. Lo and behold when I woke up an appointment letter has been waiting for me on my email. So just call when you feel like it.

Now that they have a lot of cases completed, you case complete is coming soon.

Finally the AVR said that I have an RFE!!! About dog gone time there was a change!! I am going to call them now and find out what the heck is wrong!!!!

I really hope it is some silly thing you can quickly resolve.

Well at least I feel better about why it was taking so long! I just can't believe that I have had to wait all this time to find out about the RFE.

I told my husband when he gave me his documents to include the arabic copy and he said no you won't need it...Hmmph..next time I will go with my gut feeling!! Oh well, I was hoping for a January interview..so now I'll have time!!

The only thing I am worried about it that after the interview...IF they give me an early date, there is normally AR or AP afterwards... Cairo is known for delaying sending the passport with visa for a couple of months!

Perhaps I can make it to Cairo for the interview!!!:thumbs:

Geez, you are really clinging on to my tails. Mine is the 14th, yours the 15th. I guess we'll be on our own separate ways now, you to Napoli and me to Manila. Buona fortuna!

Thanks for the coattails!!!!! We're going to Naples actually. He lives close to Italy so that's why he's going there instead of Helsinki.

I got my appt letter emailed this afternoon too! We don't have to bring anything!!! Did anyone else get one? We have to call to schedule his medical. Well, I'll probably take care of that actually...I just hope we can get the day before. I'm going to the interview but haven't booked the flight yet-yikes! I may break down and use 107,000 frequent flyer miles to get to Rome! I have to check the price first of a regular ticket, but I'm sure it's over $1,000...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Congrats again... For Naples, the medical is always scheduled the day prior at the Verecelli (or something like that) center (it is on the bottom of the letter from the consulate)... He does medical the day prior, does the fingerprints and such after the medical and then the next day is the interview... If all goes well, he picks up the passport from a mailboxes etc (pretty far out so taxis are recommended) at 5 PM (be a few minutes early as there is a line)... So you normally need to plan to spend 3 nights in Naples... Stay near the waterfront there (go to lastminutetravel.com and you can usually get a nice hotel near to the consulate) PM me and I can get you the names... so if your interview is on the 14th, you will fly in on the 12th, do medical on the 13th, interview and p/u passport on 14th then fly back on the 15th...

Good luck!

10/14/2000 - Met Aboard a Cruise ship

06/14/2003 - Married Savona Italy

I-130

03/21/2009 - I-130 Mailed to Chicago lockbox

Citizenship Process;

1/11/2013: Mailed N400 to Dallas Texas

3/11/2013: interview.. Approved

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!
