Well I didn't get the job I wanted, so it looks like I will have to get a sponsor. Does anyone have experience with this process? I know I have to fill out the I-864 for myself, but what form does my sponsor(s) fill out? My mother and step-father will be sponsoring me.. Any help in this would greatly be appreciated!!

Thanks in advance

If they do not live with you, have one of them fill out the 864 (the one who has the highest income) and the spouse fill out the 864A, include pay-stubs, tax return and proof of LPR or citizenship (copy of passport, BC, etc..)

I keep telling myself not to check the website but keep doing it every hour. It's a bad obsession! Nothing for me of course...if I don't get a log-in fail by Friday, I'm not waiting anymore to book a trip to Finland for Xmas with my hubby. I'm going crazy not seeing him...and I know you all relate!

I'm been so peppy until today-I'm really sick of seeing my info on the website!

I try not to check it all the time...but I keep wondering what's coming first??? the failed login or the AVR changing..regardless, it is getting pretty dog gone depressing hearing and seeing the same thing!!!

I'm about to just turn this thing off and find a good movie on tv... :(

Checking the NVC site is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do before sleeping. In between the day, I always check the site. UGH! NVC give us all some love! Im still hoping to get a December interview but honestly, everyday that passes and us not getting a case complete makes that chance very slim.

I am becoming way to obsessed with checking the AVR,trying to login, chcking my email, checking Visa journey and stalking my mailman. I would find the process so much more tolerable if we got dates and deadlines. I mean if we knew when interview would be then we could actually plan our life. Right now life is on terminal hold. It is 4:30 and I've been up for an hour. Not cos my son is ill (he is but he is resting) but cos I cannot even stop my mond from racing with thoughts about the visa and Christmas and the bills and the stress. I'm gonna look like Santa by xmas. I'll be fat with white hair and a menopause beard! I douby I'll be able to pull of jolly tho! I want us all to get our interview dates. We keep getting conflicting messages. I KNOW they have our documents as they signed for them. The AVR changed to show they got them but the emails we are getting have a checklist and ask for the stuff I already sent! It makes the NVC appear incompetent.

the spouse still has to fill out the 864A even though they don't live in the same household?

I am also wondering: If my joint-sponsor - my cousin's - income is sufficient, does his wife need to fill in an I864A too?

Does she fill it in irrespective of income or does she fill it if they file taxes jointly?

Nowhere near I'm afraid :( Fuller answer over on the Nov thread, but hubby only got, and returned, the I-864 yesterday, and my DS-3032 still hasn't been accepted. All because it took them 29 days to issue our first emails. Why? Nobody knows.

the fastest way to figure that out is to call and speak to an operator. it could be that they just haven't matched the ds230 with the i864 (which would mean a false rfe). or if they need something "real" the operator can tell you.

when we got our RFE, i called and found out what it was for on October 29. we didn't get the actuall email until november 2. so that cut down some days to where my husband could get what was needed and it was mailed off immediately after the checklist was received in the email.

Well, if you're waiting for a log-in fail like I am, don't waste your time calling the NVC! I just spent 20 minutes or so on hold, just to be told it's "still under review." I think they read exactly off the AVR!

I don't know why it's taking so long. Okay, it's only been eight days...but I'm seeing people right before me and even after me in other forums getting the log-in fail...I shouldn't have high expectations with this! I need to book my trip to see my hubby at Xmas and quit checking the DOS website so much. I'm giving up on a December interview...it's just not going to happen.

Wow, I'm a downer today! Sorry! I need to get to the gym and work out my frustrations!!!!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
