1. I was previously married to an alien and we filed in Miami, we decided to split up and she left the country and we just dropped the case. How would I call this on the I-130? I don't even remember what we filed- it was so long ago.

2. If I haven't lived in the states and haven't been legally required to file returns for the past 9 years and have a nice bank account (what do they consider to be adequate) do I till need a sponsor?

3. Anyone know of a good lawyer in Bogota? Is it worth the costs??

1. You can theoretically call USCIS and ask what you filed. No one here can answer this question for you because there are multitudes of petitions that can be filed for an alien immigrant.

2. You will need a joint sponsor. The qualifying amount in assets in lieu of income on the I-864 is at least five times the difference between your household income and the minimum income requirements. For example, for a household size of 2, the minimum income is $16,500 a year. If you don't have an income then you need at least $82,500 in assets to qualify. Assets are anything that can be converted to cash within 1 year.
