Bayview is fine. We stayed there for 2 nights when my fiance was here. The only problem was, we asked for a non-smoking room, and the one they gave us smelled of smoke

Stayed at Bayview Park Hotel for six nights when I went to visit my wife (then fiancee) for the second time. In hindsight, we wish we'd only stayed there the night before we went to the embassy to inquire about her interview schedule. It's not a bad hotel for one or two nights if you have business at the embassy, but I wouldn't spend a week there like we did.

My fiance always stays at Sofitel. Why not try it over there? I'm sure they have packages to offer.

It also helps if you're a member so you can get a discount or maybe one night free at the hotel.

I must say that the service is good, the internet is fast, there's a cab service for your convenience and the place is very accessible.

It's roughly $100 a night.

Check it out online.

  • 1 month later...

i wondered about bayview...my wife didnt want me to spend a lot when i had business at the embassy (affidavit so we could get married). We stayed at lotus garden and it was nice....only a couple blocks from the embassy. They had free breakfast too. They also had a ticket that you needed for breakfast...I didnt know that the first morning, but they just told me to go to the front desk and get the tickets for us. It was pretty nice...i know that we were woke up by people coming back from the bars though...they were pretty loud one of the nights. I would stay at lotus garden again....I will probably have my wife stay there for her medical as it is closer for that and then have her stay at bayview for the interview if she wants to spend the night before in a hotel.

Is the Bayview Park Hotel the hotel directly across the street from the US Embassy in Manila? Any other suggestions on where my fiance Janet should stay? Any good or bad comments about the Bayview Park Hotel? Thanks for any help in regards to setting a reservation for a hotel stay for the interview.

Yep RIGHT across Roxas. It's OK. My wife, daughter and sister stayed there. They stayed at The Lotus Garden for the medical and was cheaper and liked it better. They wished they'd stayed there instead of the Bayview. It's only for 1 night for interview. It will work.

Yeah,Janet stayed at the Lotus Garden two times, cause she had to return again for the medical exam issues. I was just looking at the convenience issue. Just looking for some suggestions. Is the Bayview a dump?

Roaches aren't REAL big! They do fly tho.

Yes, roaches FLY when it's dark in Bayview! I know 'coz the first time my fiance (now husband) went to Manila, a flying roach decided to "kiss" him in the face at Bayview. Not a good first impression, I tell you. you might wanna check out cherry blossoms hotel - it's adjacent to robinson's mall, and very near the embassy. lots of taxi she can get from the hotel. free breakfast included too.

Done the bayview and several others in the area until i found the Casa Bocobo . It's clean with decent breakfast and at around $35 usd a night very affordable. Its located on Jorge bocobo street , maybe 1 block from the slmec and 4 blocks from the embassy.

Agreed.

There are many nice hotel close to USEM and SLMEC with rates around 1600 peso per night, and they are comparable to US hotels.

All of these hotels are reasonably priced ... all are in walking distance of Robinson's Mall in Malate and only a short taxi ride to the USEM ... as mentioned in an earlier post ... you may want to stay at Casa Bocobo for one the best prices available ... but any of the hotels listed above will be nicer than Bayview Park Hotel ... and will probably cost less too ...
