All,

Just an update on our case...Just got an e-mail from CRIS with the following:

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On September 25, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

FINALLY !!!!!!!! Less than 2 months after filling it !!!!! :dance::dance:

Although the full out celebration will begin once the card arrives.... :devil: . :devil: We are happy anyway.. :dance:

P.s.: On a different note...Nadiya got her driving learner's permit today on the 1st attempt.....holly cow... 2 great news on the same day for us :thumbs: , 1 bad for the rest of you, since she'll be on the road driving pretty soon.... :devil::devil::devil: STAY AWAY FROM NC FOR A WHILE :wow::rofl: just kidding.

8/07/09 - received notice of arrival I-485

8/07/09 - received Biometrics appoitment notice for 9/2/09

8/22/09 - did walk-in biometrics (in/out within 30 minutes)

8/25/09 - touched

10/23/09 - received interview appoitment letter for 11/24/09

11/24/09 - Interview - approved received I-551 stamp

11/25/09 - received email from USCIS - card production ordered

11/28/09 - received welcome letter from USCIS (by mail)

11/30/09 - received email from USCIS - card production ordered

12/02/09 - received email from USCIS - I-1485 approval noticed mailed out

12/03/09 - touched

12/05/09 - received 10 year green card in the mail, Thank you Jesus

Joe, can I ask, how did Nadya get her learners permit? I'm in NC too and they wouldn't give me one as my passport is in my maiden name, and my SSN has the "Not authorized to work" thing on? I do have my EAD now....what did you take to show them?

The EAD was sufficient. We also took the I-797 for AOS, however the clerk told us that they needed to see an "approved" document instead of a "pending" and since the EAD card had an expiration date they considered it as a proof of status.

Congratulations, at least something went easy fopr you! Its about time. And OMG the driving lessons! Good luck! Seriously, I went to an auto auction and bought her a used minivan for $550 in surprisingly good shape and that was her practice car! No fire hydrant or parking lot bollard was safe! Fortunately now she is pretty good and she has her new car (another mini van) and it is her pride and joy, she is going to wash the paint off I am sure! Her practice car went to the boneyard with a few more dents. :lol:
