Im kind of curious as to what they are doing if not working on cases? does the case actually sit there or is there some kind of " processing " or checks that it is going through and thats why they wait so long to do anything or they wait for results to come in to add to the files? as for that I will be calling in 2 weeks to see why my case has sat for 30 days with nothing done, hopefully they will put in a service request for me. Will have to see!

I don't know if AOS's are any more complex (I suspect maybe a little, but not much) but there's an interview with a former USCIS adjudicator somewhere in the FAQs that says, basically, at least for I-129F petitions, that that is exactly what happens: they get received, packed into a special type of file folder, barcoded, and then they sit in a box for months until an adjudicator gets to it, pulls it off the shelf, spends 45 minutes going through it, and approves it.

Hi all my friends in VJ... I just want to say... thanks all to all the support and prayers... tonight when my husband opened his e-mail, he got e-mails from INS, stating his I-131 was approved and they will send a letter and his EAD card was ordered.....

God is good.... congrats to all of you that received AP, EAD and bio done this week...

We are going to have Thanksgiving...

Have a very nice Thanksgiving all.... eat lots of turkey :innocent:

Congrats dear! I'm not yet sure if I can do a walk in bio today since we're still unloading our things in to our new house.

Hey Inky, I had my biometrics done on the 2nd November and haven't heard anything since. I guess we just have to be patient, I want to be able to work!! There doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern, some people are getting approved after a week, others like you and me are having to wait longer! Starting to get a little impatient....

Inky (my timeline twin),

I'm sure yours will come early next week or who knows, you might get the mail today and *bam* there it is. We can estimate when things should be happening but I'd say give it at least a two week buffer on each side. My approvals came just within the two week mark (only counting business days) and a bit over if you count weekends. And remember that online status means nothing. I'm wondering if there is a pattern of people at CSC who are not getting online updates, I've noticed a few but havent taken the time to see if there is a real pattern.

Boa Sorte!

That's the truth- but note our timeline... I really wish that they would just enter all of the cases online and have adjudicators work on them in the order they were received- which, if I look at how people have been receiving theres, I can see that it is certainly not done that way.

I took my wife to Baltimore today to her biometrics appointment. The worst part was finding a place to park ($16?!), and the drive home (2.5 hours, got caught in rush hour traffic). We showed up early, around 10:45. Her appointment was at 2:00, but they didn't complain she was early. I don't think the woman who looked at her appointment letter even bothered to look at the date or time. We were out of there in about 15 minutes or so, then we spent the rest of the day at the aquarium.
