Hi, Everybody !

I want to thank everybody for sharing your own experience and thoughts about the "AOS". I've learned a lot in this helpful forum that I decided to get ride of my immigration attorney (since the second NOA/ Interview for K1 Visa while I was still in Brazil) and fill all the immigration paperwork out by myself.

I also want to share my timeline with this group:

- Arrived in USA (Washington DC) on July 13, 2009 as K1 Visa Holder

- Applied for Social Security Card on August 31, 2009

That's great!!! So happy to hear about your transfer! Hopefully you'll get your GC in no time!

I find it interesting that VJ doesn't calculate the process time for AOS, but it does for the EAD and AP. Sometimes I wonder if it is really worth applying for the EAD if we are to receive our GC a few months later. I mean it's free to apply for EAD so why not? I'm just curious if it's really worth it.

I know I will have to go to the SS office to have the "not valid from employment" from my card. then I will have to go back when I get my GC to remove the limitations on my SS. SO MUCH TO DO....but hey we're here, in love, and happily married! We really can't complain right? ;)

ReeRee,

We are in the DC area also. I still have not received the original NOA's and called USCIS today. They could not pull up the case on their online database, but had to search for it using last name. They could not tell me why we have not received the original NOA's because they show that they were mailed on October 19. I explained that we have only received the NOA for the biometrics appt and they verified the date and time is correct. I asked where the case is currently and they said there is nothing wrong with the case and they are guessing it is still in the National Benefits Center. They could offer no further information. The case number is still not showing up online, but they verified the case number I have is correct. They said wait a little while and it should show up online.

hi can i join here...?

just sent application for AOS and EAD just recently. :)

Hi RichelMichael, welcome to the group. I've added you to our tracking spreadsheet (see link below in my signature). Did you file the I-693 along with your AOS package?

@ shenan, that's so odd that you have your bio appt and still don't have the NOA. Maybe lost in the mail. Not so unusual that you are not showing up in the online system. Maybe after your bio you will show up online.

Did some of you called USCIS regarding your bio letter? I'm trying to call the 1-800 but I can't reach someone who can talk to me about this.. i pressed the option 2 for the USCIS case status and there's no option for the operator.. hate it!

Hey everybody!

So my husband got his Biometrics done yesterday. FYI Buffalo does NOT allow walkins but we were the first one in the building and I kinda told them that the operator at the 1800 number said Buffalo allows walk-ins.... and so they gave a huge spiel about not allowing it and then the REALLY nice Biometrics guy said that he would do it "this once" because we were early and they weren't busy. He also pointed out that we weren't in his system yet and then he had to make phone calls- USCIS COMPUTERS SUCK!!!

km- when I called I pressed the button for changing your address and then waited till they asked if you wanted an operator. Then I spoke with someone... who wasn't that helpful either. I wish I would show up on the system... but then again you probably wish that you could get your bio. I also wish that I would get the CSC transfer.... wish wish wish- anyways- good luck!
