Ps: As I am not getting any reply from my other post - - is it ok for me to go ahead and update my married name in my passport or will it affect the forms I have sent with AOS? What are you guys doing? Sorry to take it off topic, but I seriously need help, please send me a message if we should not discuss here! Thanks :)

We are waiting until we receive the green card to change the passport to married name. Not sure if that is the best way to go, just what we are doing.

Thanks Greg - - I would have ideally liked to, but from what I have seen it takes anywhere between 3-6 months to get the GC. And if I need to travel on my AP, I am just confused how that works, because my AP will be in married name, whereas my passport will be in maiden name!!

If we run into that situation (travel using AP in married name), I think we would carry the marriage license that shows both names and the I-129 NOA1 that shows the A# and the maiden name. I'm not sure what the AP looks like, but the application included the A#. If you get a new passport, do you turn in your old one with the K-1 Visa attached?

Guys, how long are we looking at for GC - 3-6 months??

Greg, Thanks for the suggestion, maybe that's a good advice - we would carry all those documents! I should get back my old passport with the new one but I am just worried if it creates any problems!!

My I-485 were sent to the immigration today! (according from my lawyer) (I'm finally relieved)

When should I recieve a NOA?

Hello all,

I already posted on the September board, but since I filed at the end of September, I am technically an October filer so I decided to post here again.

We just sent my AOS package (I-130 , I-485 w/ the works, I-765, I-131) on 9/29 and it was delivered yesterday.

Obviously, no NOA yet. Let the waiting commence wacko.gif

I have checked my bank account about 7000 times since I woke up. I know they probably won't cash the check until at least Monday, but checking my account makes me feel like I'm somehow speeding up the process.

Who would have thought that I'd be so anxious to have my money taken ?

I got my package sent out and delivered at the same time as you! My checks have not been cashed either.... I'm all biting my nails with anxiety LOL... good luck to u!!

LOL! you'll be receiving the NOA first then they will encash your check. either way around! some says they received their NOA within 7 days or more. but not more than 2 weeks. just wait and relax! :)
