And now for a little levity! My wife Beth and her daughter's cases (over four months since the NOA date) were today made live on the USCIS website.

As posted earlier - the interviews are next Tuesday. We are ready - we hope. The house is now jointly titled with right of survivorship. Her car is jointly titled. We have a joint bank account. We have all the basic records, the marriage certificate and photos, plus school report cards, and other school things for our daughter including her swim team photo. I am bringing the quit-claim deed which added Beth to ownership of the house, the car title and bank statements for the joint account. Hopefully that will meet their requirements.

Wow Mike. Finally they put your cases on their website!

Good luck with your interview next week. I'm sure you'll do fine. We took a mountain of paperwork and proof, but didn't need any of it. But I would not have felt comfortable unless we were fully prepared. I hope you get the approval at the interview and not the wait for the supervisors approval. You've waited long enough. With your cases on the web you can sign up for email updates and receive an email when they order production of the GC.

Dear HeatDeath,

Your Signature of "Don't Panic" leaves me wanting to tell you that I have my towel and bathrobe, I know the answer is 42. I have a Babel fish in my ear, a volume of Vogon poetry in my overnight bag and reservations at the restaurant and the end of the universe, with my hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy tucked firmly under my arm. If this makes no sense to you... google the whole statement and the results should come clear.

We are calm, ready and hopeful. Yes they do seem to have moved the filing cabinet. Thank you all for your good wishes. As this is my (Mike's) account - Beth reads the website as a ghost/guest, I have to say it is hard to imagine the IO not recognizing the stability of our marriage. Beth and I have been together for far longer than the marriage and I wake up each day (first in the Philippines and now in the US) knowing I am the luckiest guy in the world. (No disrespect intended to any of the rest of you guys.)

We leave for Casper tomorrow afternoon and will spend the night there rather than risk inclement weather at the last moment throwing us a curve. We should be back late on the 23rd.

Thank you all for your support through all of this. We have not been one of the most vocal, but we have read everything everyone has written. I am incredibly impressed with the decency and quality of each of you.

Beth and I have just returned from Casper. On one hand the interview went well. The USCIS Officer was pleasant and the interview went fine.

Our daughter Nicole's appointment was at 9:15 and Beth's at 10:15. We showed up at 8:30, waited no more than 10 minutes. The interview of all of us together took 40 minutes and we were out by 9:20. We were sworn in. Standard questions. We were complemented on the completeness of our submissions and proofs. Nicole was complemented on her current school work. We were asked about how we met, our time together prior to the marriage, who attended the wedding, the honeymoon... We submitted financial proofs - I presented the originals and provided copies. The officer was happy with all.

He then said while there was nothing more for us to do or submit, is would take up to an additional 90 days to approve the application. He said something about security and something else about papers strewn about in the Denver Colorado office, (we were in the Casper Wyoming office). It made no sense. I asked if there was a problem and he said 'no', just paperwork.

Then we were given the instructions about the restricted card and were told that when we re-upped in 21 months following the receipt of the first card, we would get a card good for 14 years... (we thought it was 10 years(?) but said nothing).

And that was it.

That's exactly it.

I was minded to make it my signature (and in "large, friendly letters", you may have noticed) after reading the bit in the book, right after Arthur sees the cover for the first time and says "I like the cover, 'Don’t Panic'. It’s the first helpful or intelligible

thing anybody’s said to me all day." I figured other people on this board could stand to se something as helpful and intelligible every so often :)

Congrats on the AOS approval!

Greg

Yes Greg, it was really good to get those notifications following the USCIS Officer who said it would take 90 days!

As to when we get the actual mail... mail to Riverton, Wyoming takes an extra two days no matter where it is sent from (outside of Wyoming). So if it normally takes three days, we will not see it for at least 5 days. That's just the way it is here. It will eventually come.

Your GC is good for 10 years, right? Our USCIS Officer said ours would be for 14 years. I was more than a little surprised by that. Is he just suffering from CRS syndrome?

Go figure.
