RebeccaAndPhil,

It went well, thanks for asking. I guess I came out a little frustrated because there was no "congratulations, you're approved" he just said he needed to run it by his supervisor...etc. I knew that was a possibility after reading these forums, but I was hoping we would get a supervisor. Oh well, I guess it's more waiting for us.

The problem is that my wife and I are scheduled to leave the country in 12 days for my brother's wedding, so i asked the IO about this and he said it shouldn't be a problem. I had to tell him (after reading these forums of course) that I could make an infopass appointment the week of our travel and bring in my welcome letter and itinerary so that they can stamp it - he said "Yeah i guess that will work." He just didn't seem to clued up on evertything...grrrr.

Anyway, that was a long-winded answer to your question. I *think* it went well, now just more waiting.

Cheers,

Rowan

Well I'm sure it feels glad that it's over! I'm sure you were approved, you will probably get an update soon :star: Of course, I wish he had told you right then and there!

Anyway, I'll be sure to post up as soon as I hear anything at all.

First of all I would like to thank this forum and the wonderful people that answered all my questions.

My wife had her interview today at 11.00. We were there at 10.30 along with our daughter. We were called at 11.30 and our daughter was getting restless. Wife had to keep feeding her jelly beans to keep her under control. The officer was a middle aged guy , very polite and a good sense of humor. When he called us in he apologized for being late and said not everyone's case is as straight forward as yours with a wink. He had a file of all the documents I had sent for I-485. He first asked us to raise our right hand before and swear that we tell the truth. He asked for our drivers licenses and citizenship proofs. My wife's drivers license had an old address. He asked why are living separate. My wife immediately said she did not update the records and started digging the folder which had tons of bills with her name and current address on it. My daughter became busy in playing with stationery on the table while I was making ready for all the documents he may ask. He asked for our copies of daughter's birth certificate, auto insurance policy, credit cards and joint account bank statements. He said that was more than enough though I always thought I was under prepared. He took away the original EAD and Advanced parole. He stamped my wife's passport with permanent resident stamp and said you are free to travel. After 2 yrs and 9 months you are eligible to apply for US citizenship he said and again apologized for the delay.

Woohoo!

Good luck to everyone !

Hi, could anyone please help me?

5 days ago, I went to SSA to update my Social Security status and and get unrestricted, and the officer took my SSN.

I applied a job 2 days ago, the manager would hire me, just passed a background check.

She called me this morning, she couldn't find my SSN in the system.

What's wrong? I would like to know that after someone updated SSN, and got a new card, is it a new number or the same number????

after the updating, the number will remain the same. only the name will be changed to married name ( if you filed the SSN before you got married). they might be slow in updating the system though. you can call the SSA office and get it clarified.good luck.

Hey guys!! It's been a long while congratulations to everyone. I'm happy to see that a lot of our prayers were answered and October 09 was a particularly lucky month for many already.

Here are a few of my updates. ( I know been busy with school but it goes) got an RFE on Oct 20th. Took me a while but finally got a second joint sponsor and replied to it with all the evidences on Jan 29th. On Feb 8th found out on the uscis website they ordered production of my EAD but the rest hasn't been updated yet so we are still waiting!

Again Congrats to everyone!!! It will take a couple hours to catch up on all the post but I promise I will

Thank you Gregg and Rebecca I'm sure everything else is just a matter or time now :-D

Quick question on obtaining a license with Ead and SSN. Does the dmv accept social security cards with the restriction? I live in Mass but I wanna hear it from other states as well.

Thank you Gregg and Rebecca I'm sure everything else is just a matter or time now :-D

Quick question on obtaining a license with Ead and SSN. Does the dmv accept social security cards with the restriction? I live in Mass but I wanna hear it from other states as well.

My husband was able to apply for his permit with the restricted SSN card. We're in PA
