Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On January 21, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

It's not the card production but hey, it's something!! I'm SOOOOO happy to have some sort of contact!!!

Real easy. Take your green card down to the social security office, and when they call your number tell them you have your green card now, and you would like to update your status with them and get an unrestricted social security card.

If you want to keep your "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" card as a souvenir, leave it in the glove compartment of your car. Don't bring it in with you. They may ask you for your SS number. You should have it memorized. If they ask for the card (they didn't for me) just say that, per their advice, you don't carry it on you and you didn't think you'd need it to update your status. If they get really snotty about it, leave, drive around the block, and come back in with it. They'll taptaptap on their computer, give you a receipt, and your new card will show up in the mail in about 10 days.

No. At least, I didn't. Just go up to the window and tell them what you want and show'em the green card. All of your info is already in their computer, so they don't need another form from you. Just the green card and maybe a driver's license.

Again, don't volunteer the original social security card if you want to keep it.

Hey guys, I received my Welcome letter in the mail today! woohooo.. now waiting for the Green Card!

How long does it take for the Green Card to receive in the mail after the welcome letter?

It's usually within 3-4 days. If your Welcome notice showed on Friday, you could reasonably expect the GC on Monday or Tuesday, or maybe even Saturday!

It's still weird to me that the US has mail delivery on Saturdays. :)

hello all! I'm so happy to see everyone moving along.. that's great! as I posted a little earlier, my case was just sent to CSC. Although i find it's late in the process, I'm still happy it was transferred considering not 1 but 2 RFEs!!

Well I just wanted to post a note to say that I got a job!!!! The same phone interview that went really well a while ago! I'm so excited!!! Although I have to take a paycut, I'm really grateful that I'm able to work in my field (social work) so early after moving to the States.

For all you non-US-citizens out there looking for work, keep looking, there's a job with your name on it out there....you just don't know it yet!!! And don't forget that we might have to start at the bottom, but i believe will make our way to the top fairly quickly!

I graduate from the social work program in May!!!! I'm glad you found something.... Sorry i had not logged on, we moved this week and it was hectic!! Congratulations to everyone that received approvals. Our interview is Tuesday, but the only road leading from Flagstaff to Phoenix is closed because of all the snow we have received over 5ft and 3 different storms! The first chance my husband and I get we are heading to Phoenix. I will keep you guys updated.
