Ensign receives handwritten confirmation

This doesn't happen often enough.

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.

Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it "Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold."

The note was a follow-up to Ensign's questioning at the markup.

I'm all for it. Either this or force everyone in the system to have a medical card and flat out deny them access to the emergency room if they don't- whether they have an arm hanging by a blood vessel, ready to pop a baby or whatever! No more free rides I say.

Just imagine, you graduate high school or College and want to hang at the beach or hike the Aplach. trail for 6 months, who could afford to do that if you must keep up with paying the Gov it's premium every month?

Not only will you pay them every month or suffer their wrath if you don't but who knows what it will be costing in 5 or 10 years after their hands have been all over it.

Tough! Right now if one of those students falls off the cliff while he's hiking he's automatically treated at the nearest emergency room. He might even have to be helicoptered out of there, and regardless of whether or not he has health insurance, he will get fixed up. If he's as cheap as most students are, he'll never pay the bill, but that doesn't mean the bill doesn't get paid! You and I pay it-through higher insurance premiums.

If they don't like it then maybe next time they can think a little bit harder about who they voted for.

Not going to happen Congress does not have the balls or will to impose it, and if they do it will be found un-Constitutional and if you think there are teabaggers and radical white racist at town hall meetings now, wait until Ovomit tries to force this on people, you will have a march on DC and an outright revolt by all people!
