Quick question about travelling back to Canada

I took a peak around and may have missed it, but I didn't see the answer to my question.

Sorry in advance if it's somewhere obvious :innocent:

I just got my greencard approved yesterday and got the stamp. I'm planning to go back to Toronto for my birthday(which is thanksgiving weekend).

What do I need to do once I get to customs at the airport?

Is there a certain line I need to be in? Am I just going back into Canada as a citizen with my passport?

and what about when I return to the US?

Any other advice, for easy crossing is welcomed!

04/01/11 - Preparing for ROC currently

06/27/11 - ROC Mailed!

07/02/11 - NOA1 Arrived [dated 06/30/11]

07/13/11 - Biometrics letter arrived [08/01/11]

10/31/11 - Final Approval!

11/04/11 - Received new card today.

Total Days from NOA1 to Approval: 125 Days

Next Step will be citizenship in June 2012!

I'm going back too for the first time in 2 weeks using my AP.

Going into Canada, I'm sure they'll ask me where I live and why I'm visiting. I will just give them my Canadian passport.

Coming back, I'll go through the US customs line for Permanent Residents and Citizens with my husband and show them my Passport and AP document.

I'm not sure how it works with just a stamp in the passport. Hopefully you'll have your GC by then and you can just show that to get back in.

I don't have an AP document. I didn't bother with it.

I always just assumed that I would show my passport re-entering Canada, and my passport with the greencard stamp upon returning to the US.

It just sounds too confusing to me so I want to double check!

Last time at Pearson Terminal 1, they didn't have a citizens line / visitors line. Just one main line. Anyhoo, to enter Canada just show your passport (the first time I went back, they asked a few questions as they saw my Visa in the passport) And every time I've come back to the US, I just show my GC they never ask to see passport

The first time I ever used my GC the BG scanned it and then said "welcome home" to me, it was kinda cute :blush:
