Again, the "spankings" that occur at the hands of parents who do so out of anger AND while they scream insults at their children is probably where the low IQ comes in at. I was spanked as a child...I am none the worse for it...and despite the discipline at the hands of my parents I am somehow able to maintain a perfect 4.0 in college.

OMG!

I would never yell at my child like that. I would simply say, "Next time do not forget." Learning is all about redundancy. That is why your professor have to explain the same thing 2 or 3 times before moving on to another topic.
