I have tried to search this topic, but was unsuccessful. My bride to be has forwarded the documents that the embassy in Bogota requires. How much times usually elapses between the embassy's receipt of the "I have everything ready" declaration, and deliver of the letter advising of the date and time for the interview. And, how much time until the in interview is actually scheduled?

It takes about a week after your nvc approval for your paperwork to get to Bogota. I recieved an email notifying the date of our interview the same day our NVC package arrived in Bogota; we were approved by NVC on 9/18 and received the email on 9/25 for an interview on 10/3.

It moved pretty quickly but it was a little bittersweet for me. After going through this long process of immigration to get this far and just before making plans for her travel to be with me in California, she tells me she wants to stay for her son to graduate from high school on Nov 27, this is 3 more weeks. Then she mentioned how she would miss everybody for Christmas and I will probable get a last minute decision about this. I hate to doubt myself and especially my marriage but ??????? I hope I'm just being too posessive of her time.

Thanks for all of the help. I called NVC a couple of days ago and the answer was that I wasn't going to get an answer until the Notice of Interview letter was received by my fiancee. Today I called and was told that the interview date is October 22, 2009. A Very nice and helpful employee. Now, my only concern is, given the Colombian postal system, whether the physical Appointment Letter will ever be delivered. I have read that the Appointment Letter is necessary for the medical exam, and for entry into the embassy for the interview. The embassy's website has advice to contact the visa section if the Interview Letter is not in hand, but not earlier than one week before the interview. Has anyone faced these issues at the U.S. embassy in Bogata?

I am sure that these are worst case scenarios. In about 1 week, your fiancee will receive her letter in the mail. Plus, you will also receive a letter in the mail. So, check your mailbox. :star:

I have an update that might help someone in a similar situation. The NVC advised that my fiancee's interview is scheduled for October 22nd, but she still hasn't received her appointment letter, and the embassy has not updated its appointment list. Late, and I mean late at night, near midnight, I sent an e-mail to the immigrant visa section of the embassy seeking some direction. Much to my pleasant surprise, within 12 hours I had a reply to my e-mail. The embassy advised that indeed the interview was scheduled for October 22nd, and that she would be admitted without the appointment letter. We all have frustrations with the visa process, but the response was quick, informative and and very polite. I plan on going to the interview with Monica. Thanks for all the comments and good wishes. I'll report on the interview.
