Police Certificate

Hi,

I am currently living abroad, but going through the UK embassy for my visa. Am just wondering if the Police Certificate just has your name etc on it, and not where you are currently living? Just wanting to go through the UK as I am English, and not through the country I am currently in, as I am not here permanently.

Thanks for any advice.

I am not sure about this but have you gotten the paperwork yet to do so? My husband and I just did this and they require someone to sign that knows you and sign a passport size photo of you as well. I would assume you just get it sent to where you live now or maybe to your parents address if they still live in the UK. My husband requested the police cert prior to us getting married and had it sent to his address but now he is living with me so his address has changed.

Does anyone know how long its taking to get the police certificate back? I want to get the checklist sent back in and don't want to wait for 3 weeks and postpone getting an interview date. I know that it is best to wait but as everyone feels the exact same way...thats all that I have been doing for months now.

Does my English fiance have to have a police certificate with him at the interview for the k-1 even if he has never committed any crimes?

How do they know what countries you have lived in if the beneficiary has a new passport?

Administrative processing and background checks at various stages of the process prove if you have indeed lived in other countries, even if your passport does not show it.

You need to get a police certificate from every country you have resided in since reaching 16 and have live there for 6 months or more. So UK is included in that. Best thing, call them

http://www.acpo.police.uk/contact.asp

Speak to the customer service representative. I'm sure they have dealt with a similar scenario like yours before.

Deliver times vary, standard (how much I paid) £35_£5 for copy that took 15 working days

£70 two receive it in two working days and so on. The price increases the faster you want it.

Good Luck

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

My fiance was traveling in New Zealand for year, was in Cyprus for over a year, and in Spain for over 2 years. But he was never a "registered resident" in any of these places. Does he still need a police report from all these places? How can he order them from this countries?

Contact the embassy of all places resided and they should give more info. It's long winded but, best to get it done. I'm sure they deal with things like this all the time. I doubt your situation is unique about so it's all good

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.
