So 3 months to the day I received NOA1, I got my NOA2 approval from the VSC. June 23rd to Sept 23rd. Totally unexpected. I was actually shocked. Anybody have any useful tips about dealing with the conuslate in Kiev? I guess that's the next step. Need to read up on these things and get cracking.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

moved from K-1 forum even though a K-1 topic because relevant information on the Consulate in Kiev can be provided by this forum

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Make sure your intended has all of the paperwork assembled and well organized. Review the requirements for police clearance certificates, especially if she has lived in another country or region for over six months. You can download the packet three information from the U.S. Embassy for Ukraine web site. The documents she provides must have certified translations into English. Make sure the most current data is available to her regarding the financial support.

She should have her medical exam after you have gotten the new case filed that is assigned at NVC. Things can go much faster now that the State Department is handling things. So, if necessary, FedEx her any documents you still need to supply and get her ready. Although some applicants to go Kiev to attend the appointment, it is not necessary. If all the documents needed are with her, the interview is usually very easy. If she speaks some English, encourage her to use it during the interview. Also, instruct her that she wants to say her plans are to come to America, marry and then begin working to help her husband with their new life. The embassy staff usually makes a point of telling the fiancee that they should not plan on going on welfare. That's just something they do.

Good luck the rest of the way.
