I am awaiting the result of my interview. I am aware I cannot travel out of the united states but can I fly to a different state as I have to pickup a car?

You can fly to any 50 states. make sure to carry passport and/or Driver Licence

My parents Time line

04/01/2009 Applications sent

04/09/2009 NOA Arrived for both applications.

07/25/2009 NOA for change of address. online update

09/16/2009 Email update with approval notice

09/30/2009 Case entered NVC.
