Get one form the consulate as well. More the better.

Hi saspakbhai,

thank you for reply. but you know today i was talking to my father in law and he said you have to get BC you cannot give them NABC and affidavits. they will still ask for BC. is that correct?

now i am worried there is no chance of getting BC. my father in law said when he was applying for green card in 1999 he had to give birth certificate.

pl. help me for this.

thank you

richa

When I was asked for my Birth Certificate, I presented my Government Family Registration document. Which the AO accepted after a frown. He also added, that he knew most of the BC's submitted from our region were fakes since USCIS knows south Asia is not known for maintaining records. Send in whatever you have along with a cover letter explaining the common culture of our region. I did not submit a BC and I did not receive any RFE. But having said that, the Officer who is handling your case might not be in a good mood the day your reply is opened by him and think differently. There isn't much at this point that you can do about it. Can't produce something that was never generated or maintained. I wish I could help you somehow.

I didn't submit any cover letter since I was sure they'll accept my verbal explanation during the interview. You can simply write that Birth Records were not recorded and maintained 60 years ago. Sign and get it attested.

Submit ID card copies from India. Ration Card, School College Certificates....Anything that will prove their birth Dates.
