i went to the doctor today for a check up and some wierd guy came in and was i guess asking for an appointment. he was hard to understand a little bit. all i could make out was someone sent him there for his thyroid. the receptionist said well ill have to get some information from you first. he got really loud and said, i will not give you my life history infront of a room full of people...oh no....u dont understand, then he walked out and called the receptionist a ######. we all just looked at each other in disbelief that this man was acting so assinine to her. i kept thinking oh god, what if he comes back with a gun and starts shooting. it was scarey for sure.

i wanted to scream back at the guy and tell him, u just made a total butt of yourself and u werent worried about that...so why worry about giving ur life history infront of us. we already know u have behavioral problems so im sure there isnt much more to tell.

I don't agree with his delivery but I do agree with his issue. My doctor used to be across the street from me and whenever I was a "walk-in" they would ask me at the front desk what the problem was. There is no barrier between the front desk and the waiting room so I may as well have just turned around and announced to the people sitting there what was wrong. Of course when you have a sore throat, etc that's not too embarassing but I'd rather not have my next door neighbor hear that I have <insert embarassing medical problem here>.

When I was at the ER on Monday there was a guy who couldn't stop shaking next to me with a puke bag in his hands. At first I thought it was the flu so I tried not to breath in his general direction (like that would help lol) but then two counselors came to him and asked him how long he'd been sober, why did he start drinking again, etc. I'm sorry but that is so inappropriate. I realize space is and issue but there has to be a better way of handling these things, you know?

Sorry this is one of my pet peeves. :P

i know what u mean but i dont think she was going to do anything but give him a medical history and insurance information and privacy statement. i dont think she was going to make his discuss his issue out loud. i know they didnt when i went there for the first time. u know they u have to fill out all the paperwork first before seeing the doctor.

i know i was a little mad when i went to the one stop office and the woman is sitting there announcing my social security number infront of everyone. actually it was my sister number and some how they had it listed under my name. but she should have known better not to say it out loud for anyone to here. she might as well of had posted it right on the wall for everyone to see.

hope your feeling better. take care.

Hello MENA, Thursday is almost over and I gotta get thru the weekend so I can be off monday & tuesday. I finally got my inspections on our 2 vehicals, then did registrations. Took 5 hours total. Very tiring! No more Georgia purple flower license plates :crying:

Adam & I are doing great out here in Texas. Im really amazed at how destressed we are compared to how things were in Georgia with the crime, economy, bills and nothing to do but work back home. Very peaceful for us and alot of family time and time together which is really sweet!

That's great!so happy to hear things are working out there in Texas for you! We'd go to Texas in a heartbeat but unfortunately, my husband and I don't have transferrable jobs, so we are stuck here in Michigan until pigs can fly.

BTW, is that issue with identify theft been taken care of?

Terrie...I hope that they figure out what was wrong but I am praying it wasn't a heart attack. Please take care and keep in touch. I'm praying for you.

And Sam....congratulations!

Tamara, I think I need to move to where you did. There is never anything to do but bills and work here where I live.

Sorry for bumping the Thursday thread but Tasha don't you work for a healthcare management company? Ours is always hiring IT people, especially with experience in hospital billing and in Peoplesoft. Your husband would still have a hard time finding work but it's not impossible if he's willing to do things like wait tables, etc. In Boston there are always tourists between the leaf peepers, the college kids' parents and the Cape and Islands so the restaurants rock. My husband will be looking for a job in a hotel there soon but he has to get his license first since a lot of them have hours that don't jive with the subway and bus system.
