If you read my timeline, you will see first I haven't posted in a long time, reason for that was I had nothing to say, I was waiting to see what tomorrow will bring. Because my husband had major neck surgery unforseen on the interview date, we got denied, even though we called 2 weeks in advance to let them know why we can not go to the interview, even though WE GOT A CONFIRMATION NUMBER for this, this confirmation number never arrived on time at the regional office in Charleston.

We never gave up, and as from today we are Permanent residents. NOT CONDITIONAL PERMANENT RESIDENT CARD, but the regular one.

My advice to anyone that might come into this type of situation: don't give up if you are right.

Check my time line and you will see. It has been crazy, but now everything goes the right way.

I had a great attorney, a great parallegal, and they found the lost confirmation, after 5 months of researches!

Good luck to all of you.

Thank you very much for your post. I am in the same situation now. My hus's interview will be coming up on 9/29 in NY, but since I am in WA and about to labor, I cannot get on a commerical air craft to be with him at the interview. We also called USCIS's 1-800 # and got a confirmation # that they will get on our case. Also, we went to an INFO Pass in WA to speak w/ an officer then we also wrote a letter to the NY local office. Last week, we got a letter from NY saying they will make a decision as to reschedule our appointment in the next 60 days. Well, most likely they decision will come after our original scheduled interview, but we have no choice other then just wait now.

Do you mind to share how you fought with USCIS to get your green card back and remove the denial?

I hope you will have more luck than we did, and they will not simply deny you. As for the fighting my lawyer did all the research, we went to the regional office in Charleston, they weren't co-operative at all, we came back home with no answers, we were waiting, and waiting, got after 7 months a message that they admittet to their [/u]mistake and they re-opened the case, then waiting, again, and trying to not lose the bit of sanity left.

This is all we did, I think we had a great lawyer who caught their mistake, and persisted in finding where the confirmation number got lost.

Good luck to you

Congratulations on finally getting your green card after all that.:dance:

Thank you!
