Hello Everyone,

My mother-in-law is here for the wedding, and she is in serious pain :( She needs a root canal quick, but we don't have the extra $1,000 dollars. Does anyone have any suggestions for a low cost solution to my problem? Maybe someone knows of a clinic in the Charlotte, NC area?

Thank you :)

JUST had the exact same problem w/my fiance who is not yet insured. Third day here, and he needed a root canal. Ask your dentist if they can "start" the root canal. I'll look up the term when I get home. They drilled into my fiance's tooth, cleaned it all out, and put in a temporary filling. This will hold for one-two months until he's on my insurance and we'll finish the root canal. They basically will fill it in properly and put a crown on it. It only cost us $180 ish. That's the visit, the x-ray, and the procedure. My fiance's now pain free and can finally enjoy his first few days here. :)

I am not sure how much this might help as it might depend upon county to county, but we went to our county hospital where they do the procedure on the basis of monthly income and you also have an option of paying it in installment. My husband needed his wisdom tooth removed surgically, total cost was $200 but we paid only a fraction of it; also while being there they added my name along with my husband's for any future procedures.

^ That's about how much it costs in Australia too. Dental care isn't free ;)

A good option is to go to Mexico, just across the border from Galveston, TX there are many dentists, offices with modern equipment and dentists educated in the US. Dental services available for about 1/5th the cost here. I went and I was very satisfied. I got $10,000 worth of dental work done for $1,500. That was five years ago and the work has held up well.

making it look easy since::::April, 2005::::
