Hi there:

I need your help. My hubby and I are moving to Orlando from Destin, FL because hubby has accepted a job offer there. His office will be very close to UCF (a little south of it). We will look for a house to buy. Can you help suggest good areas/safe neighborhood to live? We have no clue about Orlando other than WDW that we frequent yearly. :)

Any comments/suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!!!

Ladywhite.

Casselberry is a nice area (some parts), just be careful as there must be a sewage treatment plant out there (noted when my Husband went to view a house there). If the wind was blowing a different way when you checked it out - you might not know!

Lake Mary is about 20 minutes from Orlando and is also a really nice suburb (we just moved back to Canada after living there for 15 months). Many areas have Homeowner Association Fees - which i'm sure they do where you live too - which if you don't mind paying is not a problem, but many areas in Lake Mary do not have these fees. There is one area within LM called the Forest, looks lovely and the house prices are cheap, however the HOA is several hundred dollars a month.

As for Orlando 'proper' we also looked at houses there, Winter Park is a nice area (mostly) and Maitland as well.

You might check out a little town called EPCOT

"Every Person Comes Out Tired."

I hear they have some great recreation programs...

but Captain Evo has given ground to Captain Ewok.
