Hi everyone,

I'm a US citizen and have applied for immigration visa(green card) for my mother. The case was completed about a month ago and was given to Abu Dhabi consulate. We are waiting for the interview and NVC does not have any processing time.

My questions are:

how long before the the interview date is set?

Also

my sister is only 15, will she automatically get her green card when my mother gets her? she was not included in the paper work.

I am not sure about your sister, if she will be able to get visa under your mom approved pettions. Maybe some one can help you with this request..

No your sister will not be included with your mom's petition. An I-130 for a parent does not allow derivative benfits for the remaining children...

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Mom and sister are Bahaís (religous minority) who are percecuted in Iran. Mom is the only living paren. An immigration officer here told me that at the discretion of the immigration officer in Abu Dhabi, they may issue her an immigrant visa, but when I e-mailed them they said no.

I don't know whether e-mails are sent by immigration clerk who might not know enough or immigration officers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is another post concerning this same subject. there is no deriviate benefits for your sister I am so sorry. You can apply for her however it will take many years as she will be in the F4 category and they are issuing visas for cases filed in APR of 99
