hello there!

I just wanted to share that I got my 10 GC.

I was married, but for many reasons my marriage stop working. Then I filled for a dissolution.

With my divorce papers, I hired an Attorney and I filled for ROC. My love and my marriage were true.

Surprisily this was the fatest Immigration process that I went through. No RFEs, nothing.

I filled on May, 29, had my biometrics on july 8th and I got my GC on Sep 11th. Less than 4 months.

Just sharing with you guys.

Good luck to all!

My Attorney charged me: U$1700 and that was it. One of his former employees told me about him. So I don't know if this charge is the "average" for everybody or it was a different one, because I was introduced to him by his friend.

I have heard that some people pay between U$ 2,000 and U$ 4,000. (Maybe it depends on the case? )

I remember that we made the first contact by phone and all the docs he asked me I had them in my files at the time. He made me a couple of questions, asked me if my marriage was true and I said yes.

He has 2 offices; one in Concord and another one is Fairfield, CA.

I am really bad about remembering dates, so here there is a quick ROC timeline, I will check my papers and got some dates from my past processes.

Removing Conditions // GC 10 years

ROC (and 1 year extension) receipt date: 05/29/09

Biometrics Notice receipt date: 06/16/09

Biometrics date: 07/08/09

Letter from USCIS saying that they sent my Card for production: 09/02/09

10 Years Green Card in my mail box: 09/11/09

I hope I had helped.

- Could you tell us what exactly or how that lawyer help you ? Did he give you any guidance on how to write the waiver or to put together the whole package? Could you get into details?!

-It depends how much desperation the lawyer see in the (potential) client. If he/she see that you are scared and desperate, usually the retainer upfront is high. It all depends on the lawyer, but from my experience, they will do anything to get as much money as possible from you.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

Hi there Anamaria2009

My Lawyer put the whole package together. He filled the forms, put all the evidence together (docs, bills + pics) Honestly I could have done what he did, because I didn't have a Lawyer working on my old processes. But I just wanted to look for some professional help because of my divorce. - what unfortunatelly was not "friendly".

Thank you.
