It's quite ironic to see Will Ferrell--who's worth $31 million--denounce all these evil wealthy millionaires. Pot, kettle; eh?

But He "Earned his money" while insurance Executives somehow suspend Contract-law and cheat people out of coverage they pay for.

Who doesn't want a mini zoo on their estate?

Not Holly wood folks fur sure.

Robin Leach would be out of work if not for the bizarre spending habits of Holly Wood.... and then for them to take a poke at others is laughable.

Man Not Belonging To Movie's Target Demographic Escorted From Theater By Hollywood Officials

ST. LOUIS—Hollywood officials removed David Sinclair, 24, from the AMC Esquire 7's 9 p.m. showing of The Time Traveler's Wife Monday for failing to meet the minimum gender, age, and socioeconomic status requirements set forth in new guidelines to ensure marketing is reflected in movie audiences. "Looks like this punk is a little too young and a little too male to be here," said Toby Emmerich, president of New Line Cinema, who spotted Sinclair trying to discretely watch the film from the back of the theater. "Didn't your mother ever teach you that a romantic thriller starring Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana is for professional women aged 26 to 40 who make between $45,000 and $60,000 a year?" Despite Sinclair's promises that he would buy a Coke and popcorn, officials escorted the single, college-educated city-dweller out of the theater complex and issued him a $1,500 fine.

That's not irony. Irony would be if Will Ferrell made his fortune off of denying people insurance coverage.

But accumulating your fortune by making movie-goers endure bile secretions like "Talladega Nights" or "Blades of Glory" is more virtuous?

Movie going is completely voluntary and optional. That's the beauty of the market. ;)

And health insurance is somehow involuntary and mandatory?

Paying premiums and then being denied a claim when you need it the most is kind of like paying to go see a movie and realizing you just wasted 2 hours of your life.

Kind of, except the 'harm' to the consumer in the former far exceeds the latter.

It's relative, AJ.

I would much rather be denied a claim for say, a $75 dollar bill than endure say, the movie Crank 2: High Voltage.

If when thinking of the size of a medical claim, $75 is what comes to mind, then I certainly do understand your cavalier attitude towards this.

Suffice it to say $75 claims are not what I have in mind :)

Cavalier, eh? Nah.

Just pointing out the relative nature.

I'm not sure who should be blamed when it comes to the disparity of someone requiring an operation costing $75,000 and someone requiring one costing $75. Perhaps God is to blame.

But it's definetely not Ronald Williams fault, is it?

I use government run health care. It certainly has its good and bad sides. My concern is when it is available for everyone how will that effect the quality of health care. Already government run hospitals are rarely accountable for mistakes and most of the doctors are not your top of the class medical graduates. Waiting time for specialty care appointments can be very long too. The only reason it has gotten better in recent years is the government finally started using private doctors and hospitals to supplement its shortage of health care professionals and facilities.

Careful Steven, the Libertarians are everywhere--and their free-market ideology is breeding faster than Bristol Palin.

The Libertarians even have a Youtube rap music video Steven, so they're fo' rizzo now:

You should know who is to blame here.....The employer, because that is our reality. The unemployed are fcked, because the system does not support that....That would be a failure of the USG, given that these people should be covered under a national plan.

The idea of employment based health insurance originated by government interventions mid WWII that froze wages. Employers had to find ways to compete for employees. Thus employer-provided healthcare was born.

It's sad really and as arbitrary as if auto insurance rates were being tied to Body Mass Index. Employment should have nothing to do with health insurance.

Just because what we have is reality, doesn't mean we need to embrace it, William-- We need to fix it.
