Questions regarding Packet 3

Ok, I called DOS today and they said that the embassy has printed out packet 3 but could take up to 14 days to mail it out to my fiance. I am sure that I read that you can send in packet 3 as soon as it is printed off, that you didn't have to wait for them to mail it. Is this correct? Also I have a few other questions:

Do you send in DS230, ds 156 (2 copies), ds 157(2 copies), ds 156k and IV 15 and checklist all in the same packet?

Do you have to wait to send in all the forms until you have police certificate in hand (Fiance mailed form in on 9/18/09 - haven't received yet), and support forms in hand (he has everything else ready - I am Express maililng the support forms tomorrow)?

Also must you have a date for the medical to send in the IV 15 checklist? My SO wanted to schedule it a few days before the visa interview.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Yes, you can send it in if you like now.

DS230 Part 1 only. The rest of your forms look alright to me. Double check against the embassy info page.

No, you don't have to wait to send in the forms, but, and I really cannot stress this strongly enough, DO NOT send in the checklist until you have EVERYTHING actually, physically IN YOUR HANDS. There are so many things that could go wrong. What if your police certificate has an error you need to correct? What if you've sent in your passport to be renewed and it takes months longer...Hold the checklist until you can truthfully say you have collected ALL that is needed "in the mail" doesn't count.

No, you do not need dates for your medical, many people traveling from far from London try to schedule the medical close to the interview. You should, however, put dates (even if rough estimates) for when you want to enter/get married.

Thanks for the info. We will wait to send in the checklist until he recieves the 2 things we are waiting on. Better safe than sorry :)

On the ds230, we just send in the first 2 pages right? Do we bring pages 3 and 4 (part 2) to the interview?

Also do we send in ds 156k with the other forms? It says don't send any documents in the mail on the packet 3 link but ds156k says to attach, so we are a bit confused.

Thanks

DS-230 p.3-4 is for another visa. Don't take to interview. Don't need.

DS-156K goes with the other forms in the packet. Don't send any documents means your birth certificate, police certificate, divorce decree, etc. London wants you to bring documents to the interview so you keep them safe in your possession. Make photocopies of any documents you want back. They will verify the originals and put the photocopy in your file, ie, you don't want to give up your real birth certificate so provide them with a photocopy to file after they have looked at the original or certified version.

When does my Wife and Mother-In-Law (co-sponsor) file the Affidavit of Support documents? My petition is on it's way to London right now. I was hoping they'll email the forms to me and not mail them.

Best of Luck. Best wishes. Thank you.

Ok - thanks for the info. I will make sure he copies the originals.

I think that you don't file them, you take them to your interview for the visa. At least that is what you do with the K-1 visa

London doesn't mail forms. You can get the I-134 Affidavit of Support Form from the USCIS website. HERE

Your wife fills out one and your mother in law fills out another. They must sign them like a sworn affidavit so will have to mail them not email to you. (If that's what you meant in your post.) In addition to financial proof, your MIL will have to send a photocopy showing her legal status in the US....a US passport or birth certificate, a green card, naturalization papers....something showing she is either a US citizen or legal resident.

You take the I-134s and supporting docs to the interview.
