Hi everyone, as I am getting ready for our interview I had a couple of questions about photos. First, how many should we take to the interview? How many have you guys taken and did you only take pictures where both of you are together or did you also take ones of things like where you live, your pet, etc? As well, do they give the pictures back when you take them to the interview or do they keep them all? Thanks a bunch for your help!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

K., for an interview in Guayaquil, bring every foto that you have ever, EVER had taken of yourselves together. When you cram them under the slotted window at the consulate to the Foreign Service National (FSN) on the other side, explain in rapid-fire fashion what/when/where each foto was, and insist that the FSN acknowledge that he/she is receiving them. At the end, say "We have just given you 413 (or however many) fotos of us together. You acknowledge receiving them and that you will give each & every one of them to the Consul, isn't that right?" You will probably not get them back. I wouldn't include your home, pet, etc. unless (for example) the pet was a gift from one of you to the other and you also have the receipt, or a copy of a card or other correspondence in which you acknowledge purchasing or giving the pet, etc. Do not skimp on the fotos of yourselves together!!!!!

Also (and sorry if you already know this), remember that all fotos must be prints or printouts -- no CDs or electronic media are accepted.

We ended up taking about 100 photos almost exclusively of the two of us together. We bought one of the cheap plastic, flexible albums (so that it would fit under the window) and filled that up. They did give us our pictures and other evidence back though I do not know if that is common practice.

Good job and congrats.

AOS coming up next. Use the photos and newer wedding ones also.

I'd submit them with your application. Use copies. I did all ours 4 per page on bond paper with captions. Worked fine.

They "may" not give them back especially if you are approved without a interview.

Go get em!

That was a good number, for Guayaquil.
We bought one of the cheap plastic, flexible albums (so that it would fit under the window) and filled that up.
Good idea, si man!
They did give us our pictures and other evidence back though I do not know if that is common practice.
It wasn't common last year; the "practice" was to give them back by never accepting them in the first place. Glad that you got them, though, si man. Let us (and me, in particular) know how things went, K.; you seem rather subdued, si man.
