IN NEED OF SERIOUS ADVISE!!!

I had my interview in August, but my medial files were lost from London, when I entered on a K1 in JFK.

I was handed a letter, with the request to submit another I693 within a month. The deadline is Friday. We were not able to afford the tests for a while, and thought it would be easy to apply for an extension. I have also become far too relaxed abut the whole thing, now that I have AP and EAD. yes, I know I should have looked at it more closely, but more importantly, we just couldn't afford for me to go through all the tests AGAIN at the time of the interview.

I looked at the form today, and it says:

You have until ............. to submit the requested documents. No further request for information will be made. If you do not provide the requested documentation within the alloted time, your application will be closed/abandoned pursuant to 8 CFR 103.2 (B)(13) and, accordingly, shall be denied.

I think it will be OK, as I am getting tested today and have an appointment set up with the civil surgeon, but what if I dont make it??

Is there any way I can get an extension, and how would I go about doing that?

They did not provide me with anything, except for the Interviewing officer's initials on the cover letter.

I am so worried.

If you don't reply in time, you will most likely be denied. If you schedule an infopass, it may help, but there are no guarantees. You should have taken the process a little more seriously, but it sounds like you learned your lesson already.

Good luck.

Or get your congress person involved...I thought there was a thread where someone described how they got their lost medical found again, and it took their congress person asking USCIS to look into your secondary file or something -- I can't remember.

It is all fine, thank you. As the officer told me, hte medical can be done in a few days, here in San Diego.

I had all the results today, and will have the I 693 on Thursday.

I have taken the entire process very seriously. The first week or so was spent contacting congressmen and the London Embassy. The next few weeks were spent saving the money to get the tests done... all over again.

I have an info pass appointment already, just in case, but things are looking good. Just had a little panic attack, lol
