Just a quick note to everyone. Thanks to everyone for the info and support during this process. John and I had the interview on the 5th of March and passed with no problems. John got the visa back from the courier yesterday so a pretty quick turn around.

To all of you who have already had your interview congrats and to those still waiting...kizza that means you! I'm wish you all the luck in the world!

Wow! I hadn't looked at this thread in a while..it is so nice to see everyone getting over the hurdles. I just got off Skype with Yi and she passed with a two minute interview! OMG...all the preparation and planning and paperwork we had ready as proof...and the VO didn't want to see any of it...just handed her the pink after 5 simple questions. I am so lucky and so blessed to have her in my life and so happy that the embassy decided not to have a bad day. I will check back from time to time, but I think that our thread is coming to the end of its' run....ahh the memories. Kizza, let us know the good news soon, girl! I spent more time worrying about your NOA2 than my own..so glad to see you are on to P3!

So I was approved today pending the results of the medical which I have bright and early tomorrow. Vancouver is nice for that, you can interview on Tuesday and do the medical on Wednesday. As for the interview my experience was a BREEZE! the guy interviewing me actually was more interested in the fact that I'm an actor and he wanted to know more about that than the actual visa application! Like you said garfield... all that work all those pictures... and they didn't even ask for them!

anyways... I'm so thrilled! I don't expect anything to go weird tomorrow with the medical so I should be good to go!!!

Yup! I fought for a few hours with form ds-160 tonight... but I WON. fracking frack.

Packet 3 will be off first thing in the morning!

So I was approved today pending the results of the medical which I have bright and early tomorrow. Vancouver is nice for that, you can interview on Tuesday and do the medical on Wednesday. As for the interview my experience was a BREEZE! the guy interviewing me actually was more interested in the fact that I'm an actor and he wanted to know more about that than the actual visa application! Like you said garfield... all that work all those pictures... and they didn't even ask for them!

Canada uses the new DS-160? Wow...I am glad we didn't have to use that one, especially since we had already prepared the older forms. Yeah, I am so happy about the interview result. We are looking at early May for her to arrive. In China, some jobs require a minimum of one month "free" service if you quit while under contract. If she doesn't do this, she can incur a financial penalty if she ever tries to work or do business in China in the future. Plus, she needs to start planning what she will bring on this first trip. We decided not to plan any of the travel aspects until we had been approved. If we didn't get "pink" I think it would have been hard emotionally if we had invested more in the move. Yeah, both Vancouver and Montreal use the ds-160, which is pita. I think it will be great once they resolve the glitches though. I also had to fill in all the older forms. But oh well, it's done and Montreal got my P3 yesterday morning, so Im pretty happy.

So, she has to work without pay for a month? wow... interesting system... well at least she has something good to look forward to. It's unfortunate though as Im sure she'd rather be saving money right now, but I agree that's it better to leave on good terms and with a clear conscience.

Mitch! I didn't realize you're on VJ. We're the Chinese couple you spoke to briefly in the interview room, and yeah I heard the interviewer go on for about 5 minutes asking about your acting job, lol. Hope your medical was fine and you have your visa now

Anyways, an update on our interview, ours was just as easy. This interviewer seems to get sidetracked easily, as he asked more about restaurant recommendations in Portland where I live!

We did have a small problem though. Her police report from China that we presented was the same she used to get her Canadian student visa, and was dated August 2008. They said that technically it's expired (over a year old) and we need to get a new one. Never mind the fact that she's never left Canada since she arrived there, so her criminal record in China could not possibly have changed.

So now we wait for her new police report to arrive from China so she can take it to the consulate and get her visa. Fortunately her mom has a friend in the police department in China, so she got a new one generated pretty quickly and my fiancee should get it some time next week. Just a bit angry at myself for not having noticed the date on the China police report before, causing us to have to wait just a little longer for our visa. I'll update again once she gets the new police report and takes it to the consulate.

HAHA! wow! I didn't think there was anyone from VJ there on Tuesday!! I'm sorry to hear about the police check! Remind her when she goes back to the embassy she's allowed to head to the front of the line with that piece of paper... that's what I did the next day with the results of my medical... there was a line up of 45-75 people picking up their visa's so I skipped all of them and was able to get upstairs in about 5 minutes. Once I was there it only took about 3 minutes. I guess all of that to say, once you get the police check it will not be long before you get your visa!! I got approved and I'm waiting for the embassy to mail it to me... anyways... keep us updated on how it's going for you!

Congrats to all the approvals! Andrea was approved in Bogota in Tuesday, March 9th. I went down there because it had been 7 months since we saw each other. I didn't really need to be at the interview, and for anyone on the fence about whether to go or not, I'd say don't worry about it if you're not there, as long as your have all your papers straight. Her interview was a piece of cake, very casual. The interviewer thanked her for making it so easy for him. He never even asked to talk with me or see additional proofs. He said it was good she was honest on her denied tourist applications by saying she was coming to see me. If anything, those helped her because it helps establish the relationship. Hervisa was delivered to her house yesterday! To everyone with upcoming appointments, don't worry, but don't slack on having your papers in order. good luck!

Wow, lots of good news. Congratulations to all that were approved. My interview is not until May 4th (49 days) but I see him in London next month. I am pretty excited about London, cos I have not seen him since Jan 2nd of this year.

Thanks Lilac... I expect to wait a while for an interview date, but Im really anxious to get logged. Then I'll feel like I can breath a little better. I hope it comes soon. We havent been calling yet... Im keeping busy with work so that's a good distraction.
