I am still curious how they would sort the applications out to adjudicators. Someone with an NOA1 date of 10/22 just got an approval. I know I will never know the answer but I am still curious.

Me too kizza. We're probably assigned to the same adjudicator who is taking a 30 day sabbatical or something. :P

Seriously! Hopefully he or she gets back in a good mood after that!

I wonder how many September filers here on VJ are really still waiting... I went through the unapproved cases (doesnt take that long anymore!), and some havent logged on in months.

Good news Rosie!

What you want to do is call NVC at (603) 334-0700 press 1 then 5. They will ask you the following:

Case#

Benificiary's date of birth and name

Petitioner's date of birth and name

Ask them if they have received your case and an estimate of when it will be forwarded to the Embassy of your fiance. Also ask for your NVC case#.

I would call NVC about a week after receiving your NOA2.

Hope this helps :)

@kizza Don't rely too much on USCIS website... ours was still on initial review stage but when we called NVC it was already forwarded to US Embassy Manila. We never had any single touch on our case or notification online.. we simply knew our status when the hardcopy of NOA 2 came by mail and did our follow up at NVC hotline.

That would be fantastic! I hope it is the case.

I think Matt checks his mailbox pretty much everyday... so far no notice. :(

Additional information: NVC is open from 7:30 a.m. to 12 midnight Eastern Standard time.

After NVC shows it received and sent:

For Manila in particular, if you're really impatient like we were you can wait 4-5 business days after it left NVC and just call the appointment line. If the embassy doesn't show the packet received yet, you will still have to pay for the call, but you'll eventually get your appointment set sooner then if you wait for the letter. We ended up paying for extra calls but we got our appointment a week sooner than we would have otherwise and for me it's worth it.

Of course that's after making sure you have all your requirements, NBI, Cenomar, police clearances if you were an OFW. Check here http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf for requirements, the appointment setting phone number, and instructions on the medical at St. Luke's ext. Don't set your appointment until you have all those things finished in case there's a problem with one of them.

Or if you prefer to read it in tagalog, check this one instead: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1tg.pdf

Once the US Citizen receives the letter from NVC you can take a copy of the letter from NVC and a copy of your NOA2 letter of approval to St. Luke's Ext. and get your medical done. The medical exam is valid for 6 months after you did it. Let him scan them and email them to you as soon as he receives it. They will make you do your medical one week in advance of setting the appointment. Otherwise if your appointment is set first, just take two copies of the appointment letter and your passport to St. Luke's and get it done.

In our particular case, the day after I received the letter from NVC the embassy also was able to set our appointment. Also in our particular case Vicky received her letter informing her she can set an appointment about 4 days after I set the appointment, but I've read here that it can take 2-3 weeks sometimes to get your letter after the embassy has received it.

Best of luck to you!
