you give the receipt number from the NOA1/NAO2, its the same. As far as I understand it, once they have your case, they will process it and give you a case number.....someone correct me if I'm wrong.

but I still can't get through to them, their line must just be down. I hope they are still working on our cases though.

Keep calling...they are usually busy in the morning, lunch time, and evening..but with several time zones..it is basically all day! Yes, you will give them your USCIS case number and they will ask for your name/birth and your SO's name/birth and sometimes they ask for email on file..just to confirm who you are. I was able to get through just a minute ago..and then hung up..so try, try, try again. Good luck!!

I just got through a few minutes ago, found out they have received it as of 12-24 (not bad, NOA2/ approved 12-18). Not yet processed, but I got my MNL number.

It was busy the majority of the day, I'm sure hundreds of people checking after the long holiday weekend.

I also got my paper copy NOA2 today in the mail... I can hardly sit down, I'm more excited now than I was when we got notified of approval by email. Go Go NVC!!

In about 10 minutes Vicky will be online, can't wait to tell her all the news!!

Awe...that is so great. Your enthusiasm will help this process go much faster and less stressful. I don't know if your embassy requires it, but I scanned and sent a copy of the NOA2 to Yi after I received it. Now you can focus on getting everything ready for the embassy stage...awesome!

Not quite yet, she needs the actual interview letter to be able to go in for the medical at the St. Luke's extension. I believe that's also on certain days and on a first-come first-served basis as well, and they do say it could take multiple days or not finish in one day. Google "K1 visa interview instructions manila embassy" to find the pdf with instructions and requirements. Does she have her cenomar and NBI done?

Vicky priced her immunizations there, much much MUCH cheaper than doing it here in the states. I'd recommend the same for your fiancee, get the immunizations done during the medical inspection. Adds about $150 US. Here it would be in excess of $6-700 probably. You'll need them for the AOS process after you marry.

After NVC mails it to the embassy, after the embassy shows it as received and filed, she can do the DS-156 and DS-157 forms then call the automated line for an appoinment date.

Other people on this forum have noted you can call the DOS (dept. of state) to find out when the embassy has received or shows received the paperwork.

Other people on here have advised me to just wait 1-2 weeks after it leaves the NVC then call to set up an appointment. If it's not yet entered into Manila embassy's database you won't be allowed to set an appointment and will be out the few dollars for the pay-per-call hotline (also cheaper for her to do that there). She won't lose the DS-157 fee if it's already cleared through NVC. That fee is valid for an appointment for 60 days after paying it.

Wow...you folks in the Phils have it much easier for the embassy stage. For China, there can be a 3-6month "dead zone" of time due to diplomatic issues before the consulate even opens the case once received and then

you have to wait for the P3 to be sent, return it, wait for P4 interview notice...so we still have 3-6months of time left on our journey assuming all goes well. So JEALOUS! haha Good luck!:thumbs:

Really? The vaccines are $6-700? I thought there is only a limited number required...wow, I will look more into this...

It depends what she's got documentable proof of what she's already had for immunizations. In our case her local hospital/ clinic suffered from the flooding that happened recently and could not produce vaccination records for us.

The current list is:

mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus and diptheria toxids, pertussis, influenza type B, Hepatitis type A & B, Varicella, Pneumoccocal, Rotavirus, Menengococcal, Human Papillomavirus, Zoster, and any other vaccinations recommended by the CDC and Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices.

The advantage of doing it at the same place as your medical inspection is "the panel physician will review the vacinnation records and will determine if you meet the vaccination requirement. Only the panel physician can determine which vaccinations are medically appropriate." "After you have been admitted to the U.S. in "K" status and apply for adjustment from nonimmigrant to permanent resident, the USCIS will use the panel physician's vaccination assessment to determine your admissibility on medical grounds. Applicants who have not fully complied with the vaccination requirement will have to do so before they may finalize their adjustment of status in the U.S."

In other words, if you get your immunizations at the same facility that you get your medical exam done, you will automatically pass the requirement at AOS.

nice! It feels so good to see the process moving along. I finally got through to the NVC yesterday, after freaking out needlessly. One recent status change is that the CDC is no longer requiring the HPV immunization for alien immigrants adjusting status. Here is one source for this information: http://www.laborimmigration.com/2009/11/cd...for-immigrants/

This should help keep the cost down.
