September 2009 Filers! CSC

I know... it's frigging disheartening. I really wish CSC would keep a steady pace.

I recomfort myself by thinking that at least, CSC seems to work on its backlog more than VSC, because as much as I would like to be approved very very soon, I would really hate to be skipped in the process, and still be waiting in January while people from October or November are being approved. I feel so bad for people from June or earlier watching couples from September being approved while they are still waiting. That would suck. Seeing people get approved in 20 days is fantastic... but I imagine not so much for people who have already been waiting 5 or 6 months!!

Seriously. How pissed would you be if you were a May/June filer and a person who filed 3 wks ago is approved and you are sitting on Shirleys desk while she drops jelly from her donught on the file? I would be spazzing out completely. I'm not really too worried. I don't really want to be approved any earlier than what my timeline says here. Mid December is PLENTY early for us since we are trying to plan things around my parents garden being in bloom :) I guess it's just something to see where all of us are pins and needles waiting and even though I really don't need it done any earlier due to our plans something in me says just get it done so I know at least one part is out of the way. More just to set myself at ease and stop thinking about it.

I feel for the folks who have to go through Montreal. I keep reading all these things that say they are so far behind and that the wait just to have the interview is 6 months...that's CRAZY! Don't you wonder what the heck takes so long?

too funny! that's pretty much what Im picturing too, some disorganised slacker using somebody's file as a coaster! nice big coffee ring on it lol

same for me... I never really hoped for anything earlier than my timeline says, mid-decemberish, but now that I know how backlogged Montreal is, Im just really really hoping my approval doesnt go over the predicted timeline. Im hoping by the time I get to the consulate stage, things will have gotten moving, but Im sure they'll still be catching up at the rate they are going now...

My fiancé annoys me a little... he's in denial and doesnt realise that shooting for April is actually very optimistic in my case! One of his relatives was telling him he just had to fill in the 129 and we're good to go! :bonk:

Ditto, but I'm not looking forward to the consulate stage. With how backlogged Montreal is, I'm trying to not let my hopes get so far up that we'll be married next year... that way, if we somehow do, lovely surprise! :D (trying to keep my head up -- it's not working too well, but I'm surviving at least...)

yeah... I try to stay positive as much as I can, but sometimes, I just think this blows. Like now. Im tired, it's frigging freezing, and I know Im spending the whole winter here. better be a mild one.

When we started this process the VSC was about 2 wks behind in processing time....now they are nearly a week ahead. The thing is as you brought up in an earlier post, There are so man filers at VSC from back in May, June, July...that haven't been processed. They are going to HAVE to process those application that have been left by the wasteside at some point and maybe then we'll see the CSC inch forward again.

Since John has been laid off from work until after the new year we've decided that he is going to come for a visit and we'll fly back together at Christmas. I'm SOOOOO excited that he's going to be here in 2 weeks I can't wait! What a great weekend this has turned out to be!

Oh lucky girl!! I was hoping Matt would get laid-off with job attached for a while so he could come and stay with me!! lol

He booked his tix a few days ago to come spend 2 weeks over the holidays and I am so excited too! I needed something to look forward to.

So let's try to keep positive and send CSC good, energetic vibes so that adjudicators stay focused and get sh!t done!! lol

I was reading the CSC July filers thread yesterday. A few of them are still waiting for their noa2s, and they were saying last week was unusually slow - I think they even had some theory about the uscis website being down. Im sure these people have been checking Igor's list for the last 3 months, so they would know it wasnt usually like that. What ever it was, let's hope that was the slowest week we'll ever see and that we get approvals by the dozens at CSC from now on!!

For those of you going through Montreal afterwards, people are starting to write letters to try to get things moving. Check the US Embassies & Consulates forum for more details if you want to take part in that.

I saw some of them. I'm still thinking about whether I'm going to write a letter or not. I'm wondering if it would just fall on deaf ears because of the fact that I'm not even at the consulate stage yet... I don't know.

I think a part of me is still hoping that we all will get approvals sooner than we plan, but that might just be wishful thinking, lol.

I'm wondering if it would just fall on deaf ears because of the fact that I'm not even at the consulate stage yet... I don't know. I know what you mean, but I think that if they get a lot of letters, they might start to realise they need to address the problem. The same could be said for people who are already approved but are still writing the letter. And it will affect you soon enough. It would be pretty amazing if by the time we got to that stage, they had pretty much worked through the backlog. Power in numbers is what I say. Anyway, Im not trying to pressure anybody into doing it, I was debating it as well and this is my reasoning.

I think a part of me is still hoping that we all will get approvals sooner than we plan, but that might just be wishful thinking, lol. You never know!! There arent that many people ahead of us... it's just a matter of CSC approving more than a handful of applications a week. Im really just hoping to get approved within my predicted timeline, but we saw what happens when a center starts focusing on K1s... it moves very fast! so keep hoping!! we have to stay positive!

Isn't CSC going slower because they are focusing on the I-130's and other visas perhaps? My friend filed for his (I-130..AOS) and got it in less than 2 months recently. Wish CSC would switch focus to the K1's now. I'm getting restless watching the VSC people who filed in September getting NOA2s :( sigh...do we really have to wait 2 more months? :sleepy:

To be honest even if it happens by December time that's still far less than what I had anticipated when we started thinking about this process. When my ex husband and I had to file for an AOS back in 03 it took about 18 months to get your interview for the green card! Now when I read on here people get in for that interview 6-8 months. Back then the fees were a lot less and I think even more people applied because of that. When the fees went up less people can afford to do it I suppose.

The lesson here...Keep your chin up....it took a lot longer years ago so we are actually fortunate that it's only taking 6-8 months!
