Just wanted to add that we did an early biometrics walk-in on 3pm on a Friday afternoon. It was super quiet and the longest part was just filling out the paperwork!

Thanks for the hint; followed your example and went at 3pm on Friday afternoon. Super easy, we were the only ones in the office. Moved our appt up by more than half a month.

Hi Folks,

Just went for a successful early walk in for biometrics at Alexandria, VA ASC. The staff were very courteous and they did not even verify the appointment date. So I had no reasoning to do with them at all. Went at 7.45 Am There were 10 people ahead and another 10 added behind by 8 AM. Got out by 8.20 AM!

Cheers and all the best

Hi All,

Ann and Daine were scheduled for Biometrics at the Alexandria ASC on August 30, 2011, but we decided to give walking in a try on one of my days off, August 18, 2011. The guard didn't verify the date or time, simply looked at their identification and the appointment letters to verify that they were for them and then handed us a clipboard with a VERY simple form on it. They completed the forms, handed them to the receptionist, and then waited about 20 minutes or so ... there were ten customers ahead of us. The taking of the biometrics itself seemed like it took maybe five minutes. When they emerged, each of them had their appointment letters stamped, signed, and dated by the technician.

Overall, a very good experience. Have a great day!

Joe

Thought to update this thread - thanks to the positive reviews here I dared to try an early biometrics walk-in at the service center in Alexandria (Alexandria county, it's actually closer to Woodbridge almost). It was a breeze!!!!! Went there at around 1:30pm on Tuesday the 24th and I was out the door within maybe 10-15mins! And that included filling out the incredibly easy form and going to the bathroom. There was maybe 5 other people (customers)there at the same time, and I didn't have to wait at any point of the process. Staff were polite and courteous.

I would recommend doing a walk-in, that way you can do it around your own schedule.

This thread was really useful. I received my biometrics appointment yesterday (2/2) in the mail with an appointment date of 2/17. I was lucky to have stumbled on this thread. Otherwise, I would have just waited until 2/17. I went there today (2/3 - Friday) around 2.30 PM. There was just the staff and I was in and out in 10 minutes. The staff were very friendly. If you have the appointment letter, just walk in and get it out of your way.

Today I got my biometric scanning done in Arlington, VA whereas as per my ASC notice, it was scheduled in another state. To avoid travel to other state, I took the chance of just walking in without any appointment. I had checked with my lawyer first and she had told me that walk ins are possible and not an issue.

The process is extremely simple.

I went on Fri, at around 11 AM and there was no wait time. It took me less than 10 minutes in all by the time I entered and left the building. The staff was courteous and fast in their work.

The front desk lady didn't bother to see which state it was scheduled for, all she checked was my ID (driver's license) and asked me to fill a simple form which was asking for name, SSN, height, weight, color of eyes and hair.

After that, I was given a waiting number and within 1 minute it was my turn. The agent doing the biometric scanning, took my notice of ASC, ran the bar code and my data was appearing in the computer right away. I breathed a sigh of relief since my original notice had scheduled my appointment in another state.

He took finger prints of all fingers and then took a photo. That was it. A stamp on the ASC notice was put stating that biometric scanning was done.

That was all :)

I did a walk-in at ASC Alexandria on Wednesday last week (11/12) around 3PM without any problems. My original appointment was scheduled for 12/21, so I decided to give it a try since the holidays are around the corner. Everyone in the office was friendly/efficient and the biometrics (fingerprinting & photo) took 10-15min!
