Hi all, my wife had her interview this morning she called to tell me we got a blue slip for a timeline. Belonging to VJ just long enough to know one was needed but not soon enough to submit one with the paperwork sent to USCIS and NVC. We drew up a very nice timeline, she submitted it with her dox just before her interview but it was returned. The CO said he wants a timeline she said she had one and he said bring it October 20th. Anyone else have this type of experience?

Waiting for her to get home so I can hear the rest of the experience

Thanks

Sorry to hear about the blue slip. It does seem that the CO's don't want to take the time line at the interview. Perhaps it's because they need to give the review of the timeline enough time, not just a few minutes there at the window.

Go through your timeline again after speaking with your wife to be sure that it addresses any and all issues brought up in the interview.

Keep her spirits up. (Yours too) That is a stressful situation for our fiance(e)s/spouses.

Actually this is good news in my opinion. Just submit the timeline and get the pink. Also find out what questions were asked and the answers and redo the timeline to fit that as I did mine. I only added one date to mine and added one thing to mine then went and notarized it right away and sent it to her. She went a week later and before the date sent and received a pink that same day.

It is not simple as you said. Timeline should be submitted with evidence to prove what they said in timeline. They should send to US Consulate by mail their timeline before interview some weeks.

If their case is ok, they will get PINK after submitted, but if any problem ... (you knew already)

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Yea, my husband had the list of relatives with him during the interview, but they told him that they wanted him to bring it on the date listed on the blue slip--even though he already had it!!

As Hien said, it's not as simple as you say...I don't think we should give false motivation knowing that others are in the same boat. I'm not trying to be pessimistic or anything...just realistic.

Effjaye- Submit the requested info and just be patient. If the pink comes, it'll come. Wishing you all the best though!

I disagree with your statement that he should send the timeline to US Consulate by mail before the interview some weeks for a number of reasons...

1. Vietnam postal service isn't the greatest--things get lost ALL the time.

2. What if the file hasn't been received by the Consulate? They'll probably just throw it away...If anything, I'd say front load it at the NVC process since once they approve it, it goes to HCM. If it's there at that point, they'll have time to review it, but other than that, I don't think there's any other opportunity to submit other than the date on the blue slip.

hey sorry to hear that, just submit the timeline and get the pink, good luck, abby n sheryl

It's not that easy...esp at HCMC. There's a lot of us in the same boat so we know from experience. The only thing we can all do is be patient.

Abby, am I the only one here who was not aware that a timeline is a required document to get approved for a visa? Did you submit a timeline my friend?

What relevance does a timeline have to the CO? They already ask about when and how people meet. They see the passport stamps and plane tickets. They see wedding pics and so on. There is no minimum amount of time the couple must date before filing a petition....

Maybe a timeline is a SUBJECTIVE requirement of certain CO's. That is my working theory...

My theory is that the COs use the timeline to determine appropriate questions. If the answers don't match up...BLUE or fail...

The timeline isn't written that its required...we're just seeing more and more cases where the COs are asking for them...at least that's what's happening in HCMC...

Yea, my husband had the list of relatives with him during the interview, but they told him that they wanted him to bring it on the date listed on the blue slip--even though he already had it!!

I have heard this exact same scenario... The lady at the window accepting the docs a VNC did not accept some things.. tried to go by a list and returned anything she thought was not important regardless of if it was important or not.. then they got a blue asking for the same info that was returned before the interview... I heard in one case last month the woman tried to return it and the SO insisted politely and she accepted. They got pink.

I have to ask... I have Our info, that will be submitted at the interview, organized in the order that the pkt 4 describes with outlined coverpages and tabbed sections corresponding to the outline. It is 3 bindings using ACCO fasteners.

1. General Docs 156, 156K 230, 134 etc.

2. Proof of bonafide pre engagement including intent affidavits and timeline.

3. proof of bonafide after engagement

Each of these will easily fit through the window and contain everything they need and nothing more... there is not too much there and I have taken great lengths to be sure that I have addressed every issue I can possibly think of with everyone here's help...

Will they accept the info in this form? attached together in these bound groupings? Or will they ask that it be seperated and provided individually (loose)?

Actually it is that easy for many. They asked for this and a list of relatives from us and we did so and even went in before the date and got the pink at that time. I said that was what happen to US and we got the pink. I think I am allowed to post MY experiences as OTHERS are allowed to post.

The window is small. think bank teller size...I'd recommend using paperclips or binder clips for ease of access--just in case they ask you to remove it. I read somewhere that you can use fastners, as long as it's the type that fastens at the top with the two hole punch...I don't remember where I read that at though...maybe a guideline to submitting documents from USCIS?!

Sorry to hear you got a blue sheet.

We were issued a blue sheet for a timeline and relatives list also, the only things listed on the blue sheet. After 5 months in AP/AR our case was still sent back. Nothing is not a slam dunk when it comes to satisfying the HCMC Consulate.

That is the type I used.. two hole at top of page.. ACCO fasteners.. less than an inch thick for the thickest pkt and they are flexible.. (they bend)

Not yet. :( I think it takes about a month for the Service Center to send cases to the NVC. It shouldn't stay there too long before they pass it off to the Consulate.
