Received RFE Confirmation question?

Hello everyone,

Can someone please help me with this? I've received the following letter from USCIS (see below).

Request for Evidence

On September 1, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the requested information. This case will be in suspense until we receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

A request for evidence is made when an application/petition is lacking required documentation/evidence (initial evidence) or the officer needs more documentation/evidence (additional evidence) to determine an applicant's eligibility for the benefit sought. We may send you a request for evidence at any stage of our review. The request will indicate what evidence or information is needed for us to fully evaluate your application or petition. The notice will explain where to send the evidence and will give the deadline for your response. Your application or petition will be held in suspense during that time. If you receive a request for evidence and have questions about what you need to submit, you may call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

I got the RFE hardcopy in the mail on September 15, 2009 and mailed out 6pm on the same day. I mailed to the following address as stated in the letter (see below).

P.O. Box 10590

Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0590

The RFE is set to expired September 27, 2009. The date is now is September 21, 2009. This mean I have only 6 days left. I called 800-375-5283 for "RFE Received Confirmation" but the operator say I have to wait 60 days for the system to update and there is nothing they can do to help.

Is there anyone out there that had this RFE experience? How would you know that they received? I checked on USCIS website and it didn't show RFE received.

Btw I mailed to the above address on a regular mail not certify or anything like that. Is this the same address that you sent your RFE to? On my RFE letter it doesn't tell you exactly to mail your RFE to clearly. On the very bottom of the letter it say the following (see the exact wording below).

"You will be notified separately about any other applications or pettions you filed. Save this notice. Please enclose a copy of it if you write to us about this case, or if you file another application based on this decision. Our address is:

It is always a good idea to send important items and documents with some sort of delivery confirmation.

As long as you sent it to the proper address and included a copy of the RFE it should get to your file without problem.

In the future, use priority/express/FedEx/etc. so that you can confirm delivery.

Thank you very much for responding to my post! I did exactly as the letter instructed me to do and mailed to the address as stated on the letter. Now.. I have 6 days left before this RFE expire. I've saved all the copies. Should I mail out again? btw, is the address correct? Is there a problem with certify mail since it's a PO box address?
