Well we applied on August....her interview was last week....she was approved and had her visa the next day!!

She will be here this Thursday for 1 month!!

We could NOT be more happy!!

Congrats! We've been waiting almost all year for my MIL to get hers. :(

07/21/11 filed AOS off tourist visa

07/28/11 USCIS cashed check

07/30/11 Recieved NOA1 and Biometrics letter

08/24/2011 Biometrics

08/25/2011 RFE sent to us for some info we've already sent in

08/30/2011 sent in the rest of info USCIS asked for

09/13/2011 went to congressman's office to sign papers for expedite of work permit, due to financial hardship

09/15/2011 Work permit expedite approved!! He can finally find a job!

09/24/2011 work permit arrives

09/26/2011 Apply for social security number!

09/30/2011 Letter is sent for interview

11/07/2011 INTERVIEW!!!

Its 2012 and still no approval! Still waiting

01/27/2012 Letter sent stating that file was sent on for more review :(

Congrats!!! How long is the visa good for? My husband and I were discussing this the other day though we may wait for his family to come until they get Australian citizenship and can come on the waiver program.

Her visa is for 10 years....it originally was for 3 month intervals, but when she went through customs in Denver, they made it for 6 months!!

It is a very simple process online...

Congrats!!! How long is the visa good for? My husband and I were discussing this the other day though we may wait for his family to come until they get Australian citizenship and can come on the waiver program.

That is awesome!!! Yes, they "said" the same to my MIL, SIL and BIL....only come for 3 months or less then they arrived at POE and were stamped the 6 months. Go figure!
