Can any one advise how to get name change notation in Colombian passport? (To show married name ) Could not do in Colombia before immigrating to USA. Now have to change green card and Social Security card. We live in Nebraska, so a long way from any consulate.

Your wife will have to change her name in her cédula first, then change it in her passport. It's a huge hassle and not very easy to do. What most of us do is keep our married names here in the US and use our maiden names in Colombia. When traveling all she needs is show a photocopy of your marriage certificate which explains why she has a different name in her green card.

Diane,

How do you get the green card and Social security card name changed to married name? I thought you had to have the passport changed first. DMV not a problem. Just showed marriage license with translation.
