So, i came here on a J1 in 2007, i extended for 1 year and it expired July 2009. I got married in july also, and sent in my paper work august/september. I have my wedding in Brazil in January. My real question is i dont know how valid this extension process i did is, because i am leaving the country with my AP but i am scared they wont let me in because my visa expired in 2008 even tho i did extended my DS (didnt get a new visa tho). Is there anyone with the same problem? or had the same problem?

Thank you guys

The J1 visa expired when the extension was over. You cannot use it for entering the US anymore.

If you have your AP in hand when you are coming back to the US, you should be fine.
