What steps need to be taken once mother gets rights to travel back to philippines, before one year is up. She wants to pick up her two girls and bring them back with her. I think they have to have medical exams and passports, how do we get the medical exams scheduled?

They probably qualify for K2 visas. The process is nearly the same as for the K1 application at the consulate. Most of the same forms and documents are required. In all probability, she'll need a quit claim from the children's father. Yes, they will need passports.

Were the children listed on the original I-129F? The embassy in Manila generally requires this in order for the children to apply for K2 visas.

I take it from the bolded statement above that you understand that your wife will have to receive her AP (Advance Parole) travel document before she can travel back to the Philippines.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Thanks for the links and info, I had read that they can travel on the mom's visa up to one year, but the instructions on how to do that are very vague.

they will need K-2 visas. They should have been listed on the petition you did for her. They will need to have interviews and file all the same documents you did for your wife. They will also need to adjust staus when they arrive. The K-2 MUST be issued within one year of her K-1.

You would make medical appointments and interview appointments just as you did for your fiancee, use the same NVC case number. You can email the consulate and ask which documents they require for K-2s. This is somewhat consulate specific so best to get the information direct from the consulate. Refer to your NVC case number when you write the consulate

They CANNOT "travel on the mother's visa", they need visas of their own which can be issued for up to one year after the mother's visa was issued. They CAN travel on her PASSPORT if they are listed in the passport, otherwise they will need their own passports.

The bold statement above can vary by country but I always advise passports for each intending immigrant where possible.

True. Varies by country, and I will STRONGLY second the motion to get them their own passports. Especially if they are not infants. We did not do this and then went through the process of getting our youngest son his own passport this year (age 14) It caused some travel problems because he could not travel with ME to Ukraine this summer, it had to be with his mother and his and her schedules did not mesh. It was a headache. Get their own if at all possible.
