Guys,

i have questions for you.

My wife came to usa day before yesterday so questions has risen again.....................!!

1. how long do we have to wait for social security card?

2. port of entry in usa was Newark airport. when i saw that passport there is no stamp of entry, the only stamp on the passport is for when is ur CR1 expires but there is not date of entry or something similar...is this a normal or there is a problem. please let me know if u have same kind of stamping. thanks as always,

1. The SSA has updated their website to say that if you haven't received the card after 3 weeks then you should apply in a local office.

2. That stamp should look like this: 9lbjt2.jpg and should be either on the visa or on a page near it. The date of POE should be stamped in red and the expiration of the I-551 (1 year) should be written below.

Naturalization

N-400 package mailed: 04/16/2013

We flew through Newark too! It took me about 3 weeks to get the SSN card in the mail, much longer to get the physical green card (see timeline below). My stamp (that they stamped over the visa page in the passport) had the date of entry and that was it... like when I used to visit on the VWP. What, if anything, does your stamp say?

It's exactly 3 weeks today since I arrived and no welcome letter, no GC yet... :(

I have almost the same stamp, the only difference is it is crossing also the visa and it does not say an expiration date under date of arriving...:unsure::unsure::blink::wacko::huh::o

My concern would be that it says you must remove conditions by 9/18/09, which is two days before the POE...

EDIT: Oh I see... your passport says that, not your wife's?

I don't think they stamp date of entry.

It would be good until you receive the GC... then you don't have to worry about anything.

Get a resident card or learner's permit (driving) so that you can have a valid ID here in US.

Welcome to US!

They do stamp date of entry. They did on mine. But they didn't write date the passport GC expires...

So I assume all POE's are different. People probably have to assume when the GC in passport expires...:unsure::unsure::blink:

They didn't write the date on my Wife's stamp at POE. We came in through Newark as well.

We waited three weeks and she still hadn't received her SS card, so she made arrangements to go to the local SS office. Thankfully, it is fairly close to our Home.
