Ok, so at my last infopass appointment, I was told to check back in a month, if by then I have not already heard from them regarding my interview decision. Another month went by and I have an infopass scheduled for tomorrow morning. Though, I know the staff there will be as un-willing to help as always, I am still going for it. I did manage to convince the USCIS officer to place a service request for me when I called the USCIS number 3 weeks ago. Received a Service Request confirmation letter two days ago stating that, my case is still under review and I should be receiving a decision in 60 days or a notice related to my case if needed. I don't know what to make of it. Whether to believe this service request or not. One thing did catch my eye and that was that the service request letter was generated from the New York Field Office that probably is controlling the Garden City field office. What do you guys think? Is it possible to see the IO that interviewed me. Can I leave a letter requesting to expedite my case in the AO's name when I visit for my infopass.

I would be blunt and ask what is the hold-up? Could it be your background check? I remember when my AOS took a while, I took an infopass and I asked the officer whether or not the background check came clear. She looked it and was able to give me an answer right away. Just ask them. I hope you get someone a bit more helpful than your last infopass.

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

Came back from my Infopass appointment. Asked the Officer, to give me an update on my case. The officer worked on his computer and told me that my file is still with the AO and was last worked on, on September 5th,2009. Surprisingly that was the date I had placed a service request related to my I-485. I asked, what the hold up was and whether my background checks had come through. After punching some keys, the officer said, yeah, your background checks came through. They are all fine. He said he can pass on my request placed on the form when i was checked in to the AO that had interviewed me and punched the form. I asked him if I could add further documents to be delivered the AO. He said, yes. Took the papers from me and punched them too while putting them away. That was the end of it.

Khair Mubarik Richa. Yes, seems like I'll have to take this route now. Will wait another week and in the meantime prepare my file for a congressional inquiry. How is everything at your end. I can see you got your Bio-appointments. Congrats. Where are you going for the bio-metrics appointment? Mine was at Jamaica Ave, Queens.

Sorry to hear that your infopass wasn't better. At least, you know the hold up isn't a background check. Time to try your senator like the previous poster mentioned.
