Me and Jack are currently filling out our letter(s) of intent and I've encountered a problem, I know how to fill out my own letter of intent, but when it comes to his (Which I got from this link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;page=examples "Fiance Letter of Intent") I'm not sure whether to include the section marked:

United States Department of State

United States Consulate, [name of country where embassy is located]

[Embassy Address]

For his letter of intent or not. Also I'm not sure whether to include the embassy address on his letter of intent or is it for future use when submitting for the interview.

Edit: Thank you very much for all your help thus far! It may seem like we have asked some tedious questions but we're just trying to make sure we're 100% before submitting anything, we're very cautious and don't want to screw this up.

There is no exact form that is required. We just wrote a letter stating that we knew and intended to be married within the 90 day limit. We added a few other off the wall things how we loved each other and things, but just state the facts, that you know you have to be married within 90 days and you are going to do that.

For the I-129F, both of you should address your letters to the USCIS. Later on in the process, the petitioner will do a new letter of intent addressed to the consulate where the fiance will interview.

That said, the address is just a formality, so don't stress over it.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

OK now I'm worried. Our lawyer never asked us to write any separate letters of intent.

We received out NOA1 on March 26, but nothing sine then. After bugging USCIS several times (both us and the lawyer) we got an email that background check is being conducted and you should contact after 6 months!!!!! :crying:

It's already been almost 6 months since are original 129F application; now they want us to wait another 6!

Any advice, suggestions anything. This is too frustrating. We planned on getting married in Dec but now i guess thats out of the question too.

Is this all happening because we never wrote any "letters if intent"? I hate lawyers!!!

PS: We did get touched on Sept 18, so maybe its a good sign or something

My fiance and I didn't send in letters of intent with our package and we didn't get RFE'd for it or anything.

On the G325A can we abbreviate countries with the correct acronyms, I.E United Kingdom - UK etc, because it will not fit when typed in full. Thank you.

P.s, did anyone else have a hard time typing in the birthdays because they just won't fit.

JackAndWhitney, thanks for your help guys!

Interesting... two questions:

  1. What was your RFE for, if you don't mind sharing?
  2. If you didn't send letters of intent, how did you meet the requirement in 5.B of the I-129F instructions:

"Provide original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his or her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent"?

country abreviations are fine... numeric dates should fit...

You need to list the address of the service center you will be sending your petition to. This is not complicated.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

My RFE was for a missed box that didn't get checked off in the I-129F. Silly missed thing.

And good question about the 5.B thing.

Someone filled out the paperwork for us and didn't even tell us what we needed. She was going to do my G-325A based off of nothing. I told my fiance we needed to do them, and she ended up not asking for them and made me get things they didn't even need right away.

For all I know, the person who did the paperwork for us may have gotten him to do something like it, or she found evidence for it.

I wouldn't know. She didn't give us an exact copy of the petition. Real smart. :(

So I actually wonder myself how I got approved without those letters. I will be bringing them to the interview, though.

You're right I checked the instructions and it does say provide the letter of intent. :crying: I'm such an idiot for missing that crucial piece, just figured the lawyer would make sure everything was accurate!!

Well I double checked the forms that the lawyer sent to us to verify and there is definitely no letter of intent.

We have not received a RFE yet. We have not gotten anything except for NOA2. In fact we were not even able to see our application online till next week (Thats 5.5 months after applying!!!)

What should we do. I'm getting extremely worried now.

You might want to update your version of Adobe Reader, the program you are most likely using to fill in the I-129F PDF. I believe that older versions had bigger fonts that won't fit correctly in the new form. If your version of Adobe Reader is anything less than version 9.1.3, you need to upgrade it.

I would suggest having your congressman make an inquiry to USCIS as you are past 5 months, as far as worrying about the letters of intent they would send you an RFE for that. Just write a letter to your congressman or call and have them check your status. I would not wait around anymore. I was already taking action as I saw others getting approved, but the funny thing is the same day I called my representative I got an RFE. It was just a big coincidence, but the point is DO NOT wait around.
