I think you missed his point, you think Bin Laden and friends are concerned with atttacking Canada?

Canada is also considered a more probable target for a terrorist attack based on the nation's participation in the War in Afghanistan and strong ties with the United States and Great Britain.

Canada has an army?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Canada is more of a plan B sort of option with Bin Laden.

Yeah yeah yeah I have heard it a million times from you, were big bad and evil. Regardless of his reasons there is no way you can justify them. Osama's reasoning is whacked and to try to prove some sort of point by addressing your statement you just made will only make you look bad so it might be a good idea to drop it.

Come on dude. You cannot go around having the world hate you and be proud of it. You cannot kill an ideology or hatred for you by killing one man. I'm not suggesting that justifies his actions, not at all, but you do need to understand why people feel like hurting America before you can attack the root cause. Bombs don't kill ideology, only genocide does. Are you prepared to back that?

I'll put it another way, the US meddles in pretty much everyone's affairs but cannot take the thought of someone forming an opinion let alone meddling in its own affairs. It also allows companies to run wild overseas and does not require them to adhere to a code of conduct when operating in other countries. As such, if a company was to go to another country and screw the people over, people will naturally associate it with America rather than xyz company. So the US's reputation gets tarnished. It's just human nature, particularly in 2nd and 3rd world countries. Therefore, it's a no brainer why people want to attack the US rather than Canada.

As it stands, Americans naturally only focuses or care about the US. So don't be hypocritical and simply stick to doing so in every aspect. That is, leave the rest of the world to do their own thing.

It doesn't matter whose fault it is. At the end of the day when an American company screws over a 2nd or 3rd world country, the rest of America suffers; as does the country's reputation. I don't get why you and republicans are so in bed with corporations. Unless you own billions in stock in these companies, I would be throwing them under the bus. After all, they are a corporation and should be held accountable for their actions abroad.

For example, you realize that as an Australian citizen I can be jailed for committing a federal crime here, that may be illegal in Aus but not so here. That is how you keep your citizens and companies accountable.

I understand why we are hated so much, most of it I find unjustified. A lot of the time we do things for good reasons but that gets forgotten and our reasons get distorted. Example we didnt invade Iraq for oil! We do alot of good in the world too but nobodys focusing on this near as much as they focus on the negatives. At the end of the day I would say the world is a better place with the USA in it.

I know that and don't deny it.

However, it's time the US legislate a code of conduct for any company operating in another country. People should know us for our good will. Companies operate in a manner that would be considered illegal here should be punished.

Not off the top of my head but I have had other people throw them at me when we get into a discussion, where I am defending the US.

Timeline

Finland only made #9?????

I know, I'm boring.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
