I like the bold print drop down menus in your face.

Especially FORMS are right there, and easy to scroll thru, and the cost of filing the form is in plain view.

Did you see the joke section? Yes, under PAPERWORK REDUCTION ACT. Those 3 words of the Fed Gov't get me every time.

I really like the new page for checking case numbers.

I find it alot more appealing to the eye.

Seems a bit easier to understand too.

I don't really go through the rest of the website, since all their pages would always 404 for me, but it looks pretty nice.

I haven't paid attention to anything other than the case status online part, either, but that alone looks much cleaner and seems more user-friendly than the old one. I signed up for the "mobile alerts," but I have a lingering feeling it's not likely going to curb my obsessive case status online checking.

06/26/2009 - when the USCIS recieved my package (and cashed the check!)

07/03/2009 - NOA1 in the mail

09/21/2009 - NOA2 text recieved/online case status updated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

09/23/2009 - Case recieved by NVC

That site is a waste of taxpayer dollars that could have gone into hiring a competent manager to fire slow adjuncators and hire faster adjuncators.

The forms are there in the front, but you could google for that anyway. The rest of the website is soo green and only a little easier to navigate but its still a waste. Where's all that transparency that was promised? I tried looking at those graphs in the dashboard that talk about the forms filed, but they make no sense to me -

What is "All other pending" mean and why is it soo much higher than the rest of the graph?

If they wanted real transparency, they should have a page that shows a list of months with year. You choose a month and it shows a graph showing how many noa1's were sent that month, and then a trend showing how long it took for those noa1's in that month to turn into noa2's.

They can have a graph showing the noa2's sent out for noa1's of every month - that way it'll show off easily how uscis does not file in the order they received.

there can be another page that shows a list of countries, and when you select a country, it pulls a graph showing how many applications got noa1, how many got noa2, and a trend showing how long it took for those noa2 to be issued. They can throw RFE's in there too.

I guess that's asking too much from an agency that collects 400 dollars per application and gets a cut of our taxpayer money on top of everything else.

FWIW, taxpayer funds do NOT go to USCIS. It's strictly funded by the fees generated.

I hate to pay it, but the fee is there for a reason. Not only does it pay for the salary of those working there, but it also helps making sure that people don't start filing willy nilly just because they wake up one morning and want to be an American.

So my fees went to pay for that site? That's sad! Actually I think its a big improvement over the past website and I like the new charts that show actual applications. I'm also glad I don't see that little girl with the flag anymore that actually made me slightly angry it was definitely one of those "oh think of the children" bits of propaganda.

I agree with you... The SITE IS A WASTE OF $$$$. All they did was re-arrange with no useful information just a little more appealing to the eye...

Actually, baltar, it is a fact USCIS does not process in order received, Call-Center told me that, Senator told me that, and CSC's response to my senators inquiry also indirectly stated that... so basically it goes like this... file your paperwork, pay the damn fees, and wait for the lottery...

If your lucky you get processed quickly, otherwise they'll hold onto your file... like they are mine where they are conducting "background checks"....
