The enabling legislation for the mortgage mess that started this was passed by the GOP Congress and signed by Bill Clinton on July 12, 1999.

Let's at least stick to the facts. The President doesn't pass any legislation. The Congress does. And the majority in Congress - both chambers - was then held by the GOP. Clinton wouldn't have had a law to sign if the GOP hadn't send it to his desk. ;)

He still signed it, though. Didn't try to veto, so you have to think he agreed with it.

Anyway, which president and which party is rather immaterial, 'cos they're all politicians, whose noble intentions are the first thing to go out the window when they get elected to office.

OK, the Senate was controlled by the Democrats at that time.

At any rate, I am not a Republican supporter, they are as interested in their own agenda as the Democrats. I mention that it was BILL CLINTON that enabled this mess by signing it. George Bush could have pushed to repeal that mess and would have been called "racist" for his trouble, but he should have anyway so I am not cutting him any slack either.

I am just a Libertarian which means I hate STUPID legislation no matter who starts it, signs it or promotes it.

Ok, I surrender. Who cares? how is this...WIlliam Jefferson Clinton, President of the United States, signed legislation on July 12, 1999 enabling the mortgage fiasco which triggered the current economic crisis. Better? If it was something that did good for the country (or you even imagined did good, you would give Clinton credit for it.

Republicans suck also, so what?

Yes, because now it's factual. It also takes this very piece of legislation off the doorsteps of the Democrats - where the RWN would like to put it - and places it right in front of their very own door. See, Michelle Malkin, Glen Beck, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and their ilk don't like to debate on facts. Facts usually blow up right into their faces.

Not me, I put it on the doorsteps of politicians that went for the easy, short sighted expediant. Now there is a big surprise! I really don't care which of the corrupt, self interested political parties passed this mess. It is typical of what we get when we look to the government for solutions to problems we need fix ourselves. And rather than learn, we look to them for more???????!!!!!!!!

Yeah, thats why ot didn't work...we need MORE of it!!!!!!!

HYENA, Why I did not know that you were the VJ resident expert presidential scholar!

Bush would have left office with a bustling economy and trillion dollar surpluses had it not been for Obama and ACORN undermining his sound economic and fiscal policies.

I hope they succeed! We need more commies here anyway!

I hope Obama successfully dismantles the constitution and everything goes to hell in a hand basket...then we'll have something to be grateful for and we'll finally have learned from the mistakes of corruption and how it makes every politician a liar, scammer and a dirty rotten ####### full of self serving lies!

Oh...for the record, Bush was one of the least intelligent presidents we've ever had! I don't think he was capable of much other than fantasy war games and melding church and state...like any cokehead military service slacker would do!
