hi friends i m asking this question for a friend of mine who just got conditions removed from his residency recently . he and his wife r a married couple since 4 years and they r still living together .so the question is can he file for Citizenship now or does he has to wait few more months ? he got his CGC in 2007 and got his 10 years in september 09 .thanx

No, he has to wait for another year.

The requirement of naturalization is that he is married to and living with the same USC in the US as a LPR for the last three years.

He can apply 90 days before he meets the requirement.

Immigration Process (DCF Japan)

08/06/2008 I-130 petition at Tokyo, Japan

08/13/2008 I-130 approved

| Waited until we were ready to move back

07/13/2009 IV interview at Tokyo, Japan

07/15/2009 IV(IR-1) in hand

Post-DCF

07/29/2009 POE at Las Vegas

08/17/2009 GC(10yrs) received

No, he has to wait for another year.

The requirement of naturalization is that he is married to and living with the same USC in the US as a LPR for the last three years.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
