Hi everyone,

I apologise for my string of threads, just really worked up and trying to make sure everything is perfect for my visa application.

My current "stress" is over evidence of meeting.

Me and my fiancé have met once, during that time only 2 photo's were taken (one quite dark but visible, one good one but taken on the same night) of us together by a friend of ours (we weren't really planning ahead properly at that point).

Now we are obviously going to include those 2 photos in our proof of having met along with the following information:

Plane tickets

Boarding cards

Passport stamp scan

London tube map which as been written on by me

email correspondence from before and after trip

IM correspondence from before and after trip

The only other photos we have are one of my house, and one of a london underground station, neither really all that useful in my opinion?

Could anyone pass comment regarding if they think we will have any problems regarding this?

The only other things to consider are, i will in a month be going over for a 3 month holiday under the VWP while my visa processes, so any RFE will be easy to fix once out there as we can very simply take more photo's of ourselves. The other option is to wait until i am there to apply for the visa, however from what ive read elsewhere, this may cause objections as they assume you are doing something fraudulent?

Any thoughts much appreciated

Regards,

Arch

You need to establish that you have met face to face. Showing evidence of being in the same place is sufficient (boarding card, passport stamp, a photo together).

Save the chats, emails, etc. for proving the ongoing bona fide relationship.

No reason to stress about this. Photos are only secondary evidence anyway.

Now we are obviously going to include those 2 photos in our proof of having met along with the following information:

Plane tickets

Boarding cards

Passport stamp scan These two are your best primary evidence for meeting in person. With these and the two photos, you will be fine.

London tube map which as been written on by me

email correspondence from before and after trip

IM correspondence from before and after trip

The only other photos we have are one of my house, and one of a london underground station, neither really all that useful in my opinion?

Could anyone pass comment regarding if they think we will have any problems regarding this?

Not at all! Photos taken after filing the I-129F are absolutely, positively USELESS in response to any RFE. Any evidence has to come from the two years prior to filing the petition. Anything after the filing date is meaningless. The other option is to wait until i am there to apply for the visa, however from what ive read elsewhere, this may cause objections as they assume you are doing something fraudulent? Again, not at all the case. Many people file the I-129F while their SO is in the US. There's a place on the form to give information about that (I-94W number, etc.).

Any thoughts much appreciated

Arch

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

Emails and IMs are worhtless. No need to include them. Like wise the London Tube map. Good for getting around the tube system and that is about all.

Boarding passes are great, passport stamps are gret , photos are great. You are good to go.

I submitted a two sentence description of how I met my wife, ONE photo of us together in a restaraunt which could have been anywhere in the world and passport stamps and boarding passes for that trip. Approved without RFE in 58 days.

thanks guys, I assumed things like the IM's etc were worthless, but working on the assumption that more, even irrilivant more is better than too little.

I would hope that 2 photo's, boarding cards, tickets, itinerary and passport stamp scan will be sufficient.

Arch

Same as me. I only used a couple of sentences explaining how we met, sent a few photos (6), and of course boarding passes and passport stamps as evidence of meeting. We got approved with no RFE's in 123 days.

Breathe... It will be fine, you are proving that you have met at this stage. The tickets, boarding pass and your passport stamp with a photo, do that.

Later you will need to prove the relationship and any forms of contact can help there. We used snail mail, IM, emails, screen prints and phone records. From now on you will be thinking "oh that will help for our application" and find yourself increasingly hoarding your pile of useful bits and pieces.

good luck on your journey

well, yes and no. Is there such a thing as "too much gun" No, as John "Pondoro" Taylor would say "It is better to be slightly overgunned than to be stomped by an elephant"

That said, irrelevent information is irrelevent and will not make up for a lack of required information. For example, sending 200 photos instead of 6 may be overdoing it, but photos ARE relevent. Sending proof of meeting 6 times is overdoing it (for the petition) but meeting in person IS relevent.

Chats and IMs are just ballast for the envelope. I am aware of the "frontloading" school of thought and have yet to see a case where it made a difference. If someone knows one, the community would benefit to know exactly what was included.

I guess I just question the need to shovel lots of irrelevent information on top of what is needed.
